LSV is part of Wigan MBC (paid for by a developer but lets not let that spoil their party for a moment).
So from that point of view it makes sense to have one of the Boroughs most famous sporting legends to be present at its opening. We're 'a village in Wigan', dont forget.
But be honest, the Queen is coming to town to open LSV. Not Keith Chegwin or Edwin Starr (though he;d have a job) Its the Queen.
Who would the Corpy invite otherwise? Timmy Street? Parky Pig? Wally?
Tommy Sale and club reps will be there of course, but no disrespect to the likes of Woody or Drummond - they're not in the same league on a
regional level, and truth be known are nigh on never seen round the club anyway.
