Why not ask on freecycle - there is quite often people wanting new homes for them.
As for car boots - you will have to get up very early for a bargain - quite a few of the regular stall holders do the rounds buying boxes full of them for next to nothing before selling at dearer price.

Yeah I've been looking but I've had someone offer me a box full for free to try and get it up and running correctly, and a couple more pm's saying they have some available, for which I am very grateful, great bunch us Leythers.

Once its all sorted I will then look more into purchasing specific records, but thanks all the same.

Last time I went in the Wigan & Leigh Hospice shop on Bradshawgate they were practically giving them away at 20p or 50p if I recall. I wanted some albums for a bit of sleevefacing .. http://www.sleeveface.com/ but I'm sure they had singles too

I picked up a box full of about 40 records off the miners car boot for £3 a few years ago and there was quite a lot of crap like rick astley, phil collins, a-ha but also found some gems with 5 mint condition 1st edition Beatles albums, the album sleave for Rubber Soul with a credit note inside from EMI confirming it was shipped with no record inside. Others included a few Elvis and T-rex albums and i sold the northern soul stuff. It's amazing that people don't realise how much vinyl is acctually worth i was reading about someone picking up a copy of God save the queen on A&M for 50p on a car boot and sold it for £6000 www.popsike.com is a good site to get an idea of values
