Do you think our halfbacks were bad yesterday? Ridyard takes a lot of stick on here however, he put three world class kicks into the corners yesterday and we failed to capitilize on any! The up and unders were also never chased with any conviction. The bottom line is, the threequarters at the club are poor and, whoever brought this lot together in one team as certainly got a talent! The forwards/backwards dont seem to be able to pass or receive the ball, Smith is not suited loose forward, Hooker only and, Leului is far to raw at centre. Really though this is a very poor outfit and, yesterday I stood and listened to the booing because I dont think in fifty five years I've heard it quite so bad! The Stadium is an absolultly magnificent venue and this lot must be the worst team to represent the club in over ten years!
and rightly so, did he actually complete a tackle yesterday?

You'd better let 'fax know about this....they are all convinced he's already signed for them!!
Whether i think Mort should of played or not is irrelavant as the coach has to make a decision and basically he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
I think the policy of dropping a player who are deemed not to perform the previous week is a good one and one which we have not employed in many years. Mortys defence V Halifax and his postional play in general the past few weeks has been poor so for that i say yes he should of been dropped admitidly so should others but thats a different issue!! Morty played in the reserves scored 5 tries therefore in my opinion should definately of played yesterday but again its not up to us to decide.
This season we need to ensure we stay up then clear out AGAIN for next season, we'll be doing this for ever!
If you think it was right to drop a player for not performing against Halifax then like tou say most of them should have been dropped not just one or two and in Morts defence he was played out of position on the wing and Donlan was no better in his prefered slot so i find it quite puzzling the fact he was dropped if thats the case and especially if Donlan started the game unfit .
reading this forum i wonder why young lads choose other clubs , some of the flack aimed at ridyard , donlon and Mort is not good , i know these lads personally and you would not find three nicer lads anywhere , they give everything for Leigh they are Leigh born and bred , brought up through the junior ranks , whenever i have asked them to help they never waver they just do it , i wonder why penky signed again for fax !! Stuart would never say he wants to play full back it is not in his make up , young Morty will continue to give his all whichever team he plays for , 5 tries says it all , Martyn ridyard is one of the most skillful players in this league and given time and encouragement will be better than any Aussie, lay off the Leigh lads
