IMO as a fan you pay your money to be entertained, you dont get the option of a refund if it is crap so what else are you meant to do????? Clap them off if they are good, average or poor, no you dont beacause the players will keep doing what they do knowing no difference but by booing or tell them they are crap it might hopefully strike a nerve but unfortunately excluding a couple of them the rest of this team arent bothered as long as they get there pay at the end of the month.
I have watched Saints games where they have been booed for losing because they are expected to win the problem at Leigh is people are beginning to realise [some sooner than others] that Leigh are in grave danger for the drop and added Joey Williams to the team might not be enough.
It wont be enough! he will need runners to set a play and we never seem to have any.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Does any of the people who booed and shouted insults to the players seriously think that the players did not already know how bad things have become
Put yourself in their shoes just for a minute , you have just been humiliated on the pitch for the second time in a week , what is going to make you more determined to turn things round
Abuse or applause ?
I applauded because no matter what anybody on here says they did not lack effort , you cannot play the game without effort , you will get hurt
Skill , organisation and execution was lacking , but all the abuse in the world will not encourage any sportsman to change that
I dont support this player or that , I support ' the shirt ' and any and all that wear it

Support can only go so far - if you cock up in any job in the world then you will get stick from your employers, and if you do well then you will be praised by your employers; in sporting terms, you are employed by the fans.
And I know you'll disagree, but I think there were one or two players out there yesterday who didn't play at maximum effort; the proof is in the missed tackles because of a lazy technique, players not supporting any breaks, nor chasing down any opposition breaks.

That comes from team spirit , confidence and encouragement as much as effort
Get those things in place and personal pride comes to the fore as well

Those things are factors in the lack of effort, undoubtedly, but they're causes rather than the eventual result.
But now very relevant to the situation we find ourselves in
' Now IS the time '
For all who have any involvement in Leigh Centurions be they owners/directors/players and fans to stand up and be counted
We poor much scorn on our neighbours from the borough with their use of an early exit when things are not to their liking
But a couple of years ago when they found themselves in a similar position to where we are now they did ' come to the aid of the party '
We are all dissapointed and unhappy at the way things are going this year , that dissapointment is felt at all levels of the club
I'm sure the players/coaching staff realise they have a job to do now to turn us round and avoid what would be a dissaster for our club
We all wanted to keep promotion to SL , and as part of that we all have to accept that we too can and will move down as well as up , we cannot have the positive without the negative
So if you are a Leigh Centurions RL fan , now is the time to ask yourself what are you going to do , sulk and refuse to go , or stand up to be counted and give as much support to YOUR team as you can in what could become our darkest hour
You always speak crap and you haven't let us down again. Well done Starbug!!!!

Got to agree with your point Steve - supporting them is the essential option. Sure, we all felt let down yesterday (and on other occasions this season) and I guess it's anyone's right to react in any way they want. Personally, I won't boo any player, however badly he performs - they still all get my respect for stepping over the touchline, onto the pitch. Also, some positive support could/should work wonders for them - the 'extra' player you hear talked about?
Similarly, it's anyone's right to vote with his/her feet, and stay away. But logically, that will harm the Club. Less people through the turnstiles = less revenue = less options to build a decent squad. However much we would like to spend on a team, we are restricted by the Salary Cap - which is income-based, and we aren't getting much income at the moment, on crowds of less than 2,000 and hardly any home matches!
So, my advice would be to grit our teeth, and get behind the team, then maybe we could be the catalyst that banished the prospect of relegation.
But hey, it's a free country, so you are all entitled to your choice.
We do need a rallying of some description as on & off the pitch this club is in a right mess.
From one of the leading lights to relegation dog fights.
Changes MUST be made NOW to avoid the oblivion that will be Championship 1.
The club need to start with loanee players or if they are completley skint come out and say it, a bit of fan / club "bonding" (to use Left wing PC talk) is seriously needed to get this club out the dumps and on the up.
As a rugby club without fans your nothing , as a fan without a rugby club your lost.
Time for change, time for a rolling up of sleeves from everyone at the club and its supporters, it starts at the top so over to you Alan , Arthur etc - what are you going to do to get us out of this mess and rally support
