Good evening or morning, whichever it is over in the East,I did know it would be a hard close game,I thought thought Leigh would win, however Widnes deserved to win so I have no qualms about the result.
As I said onwards and upwards now, our season isn’t over , we will learn from this game and regroup and come back. :thumb:

Ian i said the same to you today,i said it would be a close game with a Leigh win.
I can now officially say that Cokey doesn't know.

Brierley let them off the hook with an ill judged and poorly executed kick through, early in the tackle count to gift them a seven tackle set. This was just after we’d gone 4-2 up and then forced a drop out the next set. Shortly afterwards he was falling for Craven’s step which led to the first try.

The last two games since the chequebook has been more prominent have been particularly poor. I hope that’s just coincidence. I don’t know if players are injured or not, but if Forsyth, Cox, Spencer, Brooks and A Thornley have been chucked out to the long grass in favour of some ‘names’ that we’ve signed then we really have learned nothing.

We know how poor Owens is under the high ball yet, we repeatedly launched them either side of him !

Good post that Leythig, I agree with all of it. I think Forsyth was cup tied yesterday though. I have always said Brierley is not a good halfback, but we didn't have anybody else really.

Personally I enjoyed the game , both teams played very well, but Widnes seemed to want the win more.Ive heard all these half back theories,I’m a big Ryan B fan, but today his kicking was poor, not much yardage gained, obviously Riddy wasn’t fit.
For me McNally must stay at full back,I agree Riddy is coming to the end of his career, so is Mickey Higham, hopefully our 9s next season will be Hood and Wildie ,if Craven has signed try him with Ryan, and let Marsh go, no breaks, no runs , not a good games to tries ratio for a winger.
I think everyone will be gutted none more than Derek, but let’s move on,Widnes had some big lads in the pack, I like the lad Norman, the Adamsons have been good this season, but are they big enough?I have faith in JD and Derek,I do think some harsh decisions are needed if we want to move from top 5 contenders to realistic challengers for top spot.

Well Toby Adamson would be one of the first names I would be looking to sign up if we are looking for a mixture of PT & FT - for me he has been immense

And I like HRJ, will bite my tongue on Mr Brierley :thumb:

Whilst I admit yesterday was not one of Ryan’s better games, I’m sure he would agree there,I think all the Team gave their all,it was obvious from the faces at the end,if as it has been rumoured we have signed Craven for next season then I think Ryan would benefit from such a playmaker.
As for a few of our forwards,I again looked at the Chapelhows, and Norman, their presence on field was very telling,I’m not saying the Adamsons or others haven’t done well this season, but along with Emmitt yesterday they seemed not as effective as the Widnes Pack.
Again could be an off day,I respect your opinion though. :thumb:

Also I think it's worth noting after Josh Woods was ruled out, that Ridyard was no where near fit enough to take the field and only did so in the teams hour of need, after volunteering to take an injection to play.

I agree there Harold. The lad has done it before, and will no doubt do it again. We missed his kicking game yesterday, both from penalties and, crucially, near their line, where some appalling kicks cost us dearly.

Good morning Charlie, BFG was lucky enough to catch the game on the superb our league app but was surprised when he tuned in early in the first half to see that Leigh were not running away with the game as you had him believing they would. Your excitement at poundshop once again opening the cheque book to bring in "superstars" had BFG believing that he would see something special so for Widnes and their players having been told their contracts would be ripped up and still managing to outplay Leigh, the only team in the top 5 that actually gave a damn about the competition, had BFG wondering if he had the teams mixed up.

It all reminds BFG of this time when a young man opened a shop and told everyone in town that he sold the best things that anyone in town could buy and he would go up on the roof every morning and use his megaphone to tell the towns people exactly that. It turned out that this did not go down well with people from around the town and even people from out of town and although it was true that he did sell the best things in town people did not go in his shop so what the young man did was go out and buy even better things to sell from his shop until one day he ran out of money and had to stop paying the people who worked for him up until one day he had no option but to close the shop altogether. BFG heard that a year or so later the young lad tried opening another shop but exactly the same thing happened. It seems that some people will never learn.

Anyway I digress Charlie Im sure poundshop will learn from this and maybe have the competition as a pre season competition with only 2 teams to ensure a chance of silverware. Good luck for the rest of the season from all the BFG clan and I hope your owner keeps digging deep in preparation for having a real push after getting 2nd this season and hope the tap does not run dry before you have a real opportunity next year.

Good Morning to yer good self ,I’m sure after Faxes performance on Saturday you are buoyed with good feelings and rightly so , I didn’t see the game as I was at York Races, but well done to yer Club.
I don’t think I ever said I expected an easy game on the contrary,I knew it would be a hard game, with a Wembley appearance at stake, again I have no qualms about the result, the best team won.
It was nice to read your Story, like a Bible proverb, feeding of the 5,000 ,or Lazarus rising,Derek will bounce back more determined ,as will our great Club, still plenty to play for, hopefully a top 3spot,then the play offs,I’m looking forward to the run in,can’t wait.
Anyway good luck to Fax for the rest of the season, I know it will hard for Grixy to motivate Fax as you have nothing to play for , you won’t get relagated.Speak with you soon. :thumb:
