Absolutely, Alan. Reality check for me.

If someone said then that going in to our final 4 fixtures we would be fighting for second spot , then I would either of thought they meant second bottom or they had totally lost their marbles.

However, the team that was recruited in November is completely different to the team we have in August. Are you saying the expectations should be the same? I’m sure our owner wouldn’t think so and neither should the fans. Today was not acceptable. Swinton should have been put to the sword. We need to be going into the playoffs with more fight. We may not go up this season but we need to lay a platform for the coming season.

Swinton won at Toulouse, takes some doing that.

Good point well made, Budge. Still it was a heart stopper of a game and Leigh came through with the "dub" - whatever Sa'u meant by that.

Early days for Sa'u, B&B. In time he will be taught to speak proper Leyth-speak!

They also drew at Bradford recently. I reckon they'll give Featherstone a run for their money, next week.

We played a get out of jail card here, no doubt about that.

Second week running the opposition had far more effective half backs than us, although to be fair it's the second week running that Ridyard having missed training , had to take an injection to play.

Swintons 7 , Fairclough, was outstanding IMO but the lack of imagination and creativity in the Leigh side for whatever varying reason is extremely worrying.

Luckily for us then that Danny Craven should be here and on board in time for the play offs.

That would mean signing him before the deadline this Friday. Would he really skip a game at Wembley?

Bit disrespectful, that. Swinton are a good team with some decent players of their own plus think they had 4 Wigan players (2 centres, stand off and forward sub) yesterday. Ashton is an outstanding talent, they managed to sign Fairclough full time after originally taking him from St Helens on loan, they are no mugs and yesterday's line-up was probably a speedier back division than most teams in the league.

Swinton have surprised all the teams that took them a bit lightly. Us definitely included.

Swinton have a big middle & fast edges, they are a good team built on the right ethos and are coming together nicely,no disrespect to Ashton who is clearly a real talent and a real athlete but Swinton have given him a break and he’s taken it, Leigh would never do that, look at Brad Holroyd, played one game, looked a real prospect and never seen again. You can’t knock Swinton for Sticking by young hungry players.

For me Forsyth & Thornley should be our centres and we should have invested in real pace out wide instead of Sau, it’s no coincidence we have dropped off since signing some “names” again,

Ridyard is playing on one leg for the good of the team and This Brierley love in needs to stop because if he isn’t using his pace then he offers nothing.

We can’t keep using the line of look we’re we were this time 8 months ago it’s just excuses.

There are plenty of quality young players around it just seems we would rather sign names again.
