I agree with this. Not sure what good a 'feast or famine' approach to comms would do. Names of players signed are being reported already anyway, so any official press release will now have reduced impact.
There'll be people already mulling over the idea of a season ticket before people buy Christmas presents, having news of next season's squad out already would do no harm at all.
