I’ll give you a sensible answer, almost certainly he was rested along with 7 or 8 others due to 3 games in 8 days

With regards to Bell for Mellor, not sure how that fits for us - Bell stood out last season for us and can cover half as he has good hands and strong running game, but not the kicking game that Mellor has, Bell more of a 13 or 2nd row so unless we have another half lined up can’t see that swap happening. And as good as Mellor is at Champ level I don’t see him as a top end SL half so would only be a very short term option for you guys

Folks on the Leigh FB fans page are saying Saint's approached & Leigh said "No" & that Joe has signed another 2 years but I've heard nothing of this personally.

It was Mick Gledhill on The Full Eighty Minutes who I saw suggest the signing thing.

Surely we need another 6 or 7 given that we only have Joe & Ben who are specialists Halves & injuries could leave Leigh in trouble in that area ?

But is "Gorgeous George" (as Pie fans used to call him) completely off his game, no longer the same quality of player or just plain unhappy at Wire ?

Would it be worth us landing Charnley for rest of season and potentially 2023. UK player so no via issues for 2023!

For this season I think we are well covered, but for next I think he could be needed and would be a good player at the right price.

Bongser bets they are but Leigh have gradually become a squad of tackling dervishes and don't need a chowcl't sowjer giving them a lumbar puncture!

In other news, Episode 123 of "The Full 80" had, after a general purr-fest about the Leigh team (particularly Fergy & Ipape), Gledders stating that DB had told him there was another eyebrow raising signing on the way.

Yes, Bongser says that Gledhill said that Derek said....
