ColD, I think with the project we have got going it is unlikely that players have signed pre contracts with guaranteed Super League teams. (but neither of us know)

The players seem to have bought into what we are trying to achieve and I believe that if we gain promotion the bulk of the squad will remain. I would like to think that most of the squad will have options for a second year.

What project, Lam himself is only here for a year because of the World Cup

Players can sign pre-contracts from May I believe, if someone offered you a 2 year deal in SL would you take that or the gamble that you MAY win a one off game - for a player it’s a no brainer surely

ColD, The project Derek has invested in is clearly to build a sustainable Super League club at Leigh Centurions. Part of that is signing the right kind of people to build spirit and loyalty to the club and the town. The project is backed by the financial clout to compete with those ‘guaranteed Super League clubs’ you mention, who like us, can only pay up to the cap. In this context I do not believe that our better players would be offered salaries higher than the established players at these clubs, With the team spirit being established at Leigh, I believe that the day to day life style experienced by the players will be something they won’t easily give up. I believe that the project that Derek has put in place will breed continuity rather than having to find a new squad year on year. It is clear to me that the intention is there to break this cycle, a vision supported by Adrian Lam and Chris Chester.

So if we don’t go up this season we retain pretty much the same squad next season to keep the continuity going
