It wasn't even an enjoyable ride. 2016 was largely turgid, until beating Salford in the 8s. 2017 was awful from round 7 onwards. The one exception to this was Wigan at home, which was then explained by DB telling sky he promised them their bonus for avoiding MPG if they won that one game. Inevitiably, we were awful the following game against Widnes.
The last 3 or 4 years have seen; - Scrapping a reserve team, which included 2 players that will be at Wigan next year, at least 1 that has turned us down for next year and 2 that we needed to come back to help complete the 2018 season - Numerous over long press releases which would use 8000 words to tell us that the market stall is open and that DB is great - Being lied to about various players absense. Penky, Barlow and Chase immediately spring to mind - Persistent fall outs with players or unexplained absense of player. Kay, Pownall, Beswick, Brierley, Ridyard, Hampshire, Higson... - An entire squad not playing for the coach, which led to the coach surviving and the squad being replaced - Cooke, Purtill and Cunningham being added to coaching staff at the same time, in some strange attempt to account for said coaches inadequacies.
A lot of money has been invested in the club, but how much of that has been wasted?

Cracking post!
Those were the days, eh - "over long press releases" - well, any form of press release actually!
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence. In other words, it is war minus the shooting. George Orwell

2016 was amazing considering the coach and a number of key players walked early doors. We regrouped and did what was needed during the season, then strengthened for the games that mattered, learning from the previous years failure when it mattered. We were outstanding against SL opposition, the atmosphere and passion on the terraces was brilliant - we really were in it together those games. SL recruitment was poor, Vea couldn't burst a bag of crisp, stewart wasn't the back row needed, Burr was a grafter at best and losing Tonga left a huge hole. The treatment of Riddy was poor, as was McNally - look how many games we won with him at fb. Derek should have brought in an experienced Aussie to mentor Jukes, had he done so we would be looking at season 3 in SL next year. Who will forget Wire saints and Humbles at home, who remembers the last time we beat all three in a season. It went wrong when we were robbed at Wakey, it went horribly wrong when we had a shocking attitude at home to Widnes, the rest is history but what a turnout and weekend in Perpignan, hold onto the great stuff we experienced as we build again. We are Leythers and most on here support our club through the rare thick and frequent thin, we will do so again
Leigh to win challenge cup before 2020 Leigh to reach Grand Final by 2022
Derek to get a queens honour (mbe) by 2025
Oh Leigh oh Leigh oh Leigh

He's no good - the lad is huge but couldn't bust through a wet paper bag. He was crap at Wigan, he was crap here, and christ knows why Saints then signed him. Predictably, he was crap there as well.

Wow just wow, you are the most deluded person ive ever come across

Peter, I don't think Mo is deluded,I think he sees himself as Chief morale booster, rally the troops , trying to keep the fans interested in the Club, with whatever comes into his mind, and I applaud him for this. Trouble is a lot of fans won't wear these stories any more, they are at the end of their tether.
Whilst I agree with a couple of Mos points on past signed players, this Club is now in possible freefall, and all the drum banging and spin doctoring in the world won't save us, we need investors very quickly, and with DB at the helm I can't see it happining, which means DB must invest some cash,if he feels any love for the Club, as he has stated.
I do hope something is sorted out fast, but I just can't see it happening.Myself I will hold onto my cash until the time comes when I can see daylight.
