How does this sound?
The top four rows of any stand should be advertised as an area where standing is allowed.
Anyone seen standing and being obviously the worse for drink or being abusive is told to sit down.
Use a three strike rule during the day with the drunk or abusive culprits.
No one likes having their day ruined either by stewards or idiot fans.

zero tolerance sounds better, sod this politically correct malarky, if it was a standing area there wouldnt be seats there, I bet if some drunken yob fell down them they would be all for sueing the LSV.

soz u lot the reason the people were ejected is because the stewards found knifes on them and that is a fact so lets not start havin a pop at the stewards for doin there job

Also heard a steward told Widnes fans they found 20 cans of larger in a bin bag under flags!

Well that was me mates bag and they asked me if they could look, found nothing and actually apoligised for any inconvinience! Yet for some reason 20mins later they were telling people the same bag was full of cans



So wouldn't be suprised if some mentioned knives tbh! A 15yr old lad also got accused of assaulting a steward (needless to say this only happened once he was out of view of his mates!).

All happening after half time.. was a bit perculiar I must admit!

Some of the LSV staff were great though and were talking about rugby etc and so on! Others however thought they were dealing wth Millwall fans (repeatingly saying 'it's like this in all football grounds')!

To 1 - a few fans asked this at the game (no was answer) plus we got allocated a stand so couldn't buy for anywhere else!

The main problem many had was fans were allowed to stand at the back for the 1st half yet for some reason 5mins inton 2nd (again after money hit the tills) 'the force' came over saying sit down or get out and even then it started with 'you've all got cans get out etc etc'!

2 - I'm not sure what happened but I still can't belive new grounds can be built NOT all seated after the events of 15th April 1989! Yes there may not be as many fans at Rugby compared to then, but it's not exactly making sure it doesn't happen again! For that reason I am glad stobart is all seater, plus also more attractive venue for internationals aswell! to rip seats out you'd need to restructure the whole stand and get a safety certificate re-issued now thatw ould take longer then a few paint tins!

And how illinformed are you? the stand was actually designed for all seats bu they were never put in as a poll was made and as a result of the fans voting, the stand was left for all standing, it is about two days work to put in seats as all the relevant holes etc ar in place, and as for a safety certificate do you really think the council wouldnt allocate one to a stadium they are part owners of? get real sonny -by the way the Halliwell Jones doesnt do to badly despite having a standng area, you really are a bad troll

Erm that was relating to comment saying Widnes having a terraced stand? I.e you'd have to take the seats out and then put relevant barries up etc. Not trolling when about widnes is it? Stop being a mug and have a read 1st eh!

'J20' raises a few good points there IMO, not just sticking up for him as he is WIdnes either. I recall a bin bag being mentioned by a handful of stewards, and to my knowledge (I could be wrong) it was searched and nothing incriminating was found, just flags and bits of newspaper?

I think the major upset amongst the lads stood up came from the stewards chucking out a few people needlessly, 'just for being stood'. As youa ll saw there were at least 30 or so Widnes fans stood up, and to throw a handful out is hypocrisy in action. No one was being aggressive or inciting trouble, or necking cans as far as I can remember. As priorr to KO, a few lads were askesd to empty their can content into plastic pint glasses. Some people get that yellow uniform on and they start to think they are some kind 'dictator like' figure. Some of them can be like that at Widnes too.

As for the dullard who suggested Widnes carry knives, sort your head out mate this is the 21st century. We are rugby fans, not the 'ICF' or the chelsea headhunters

Well here,s my 4 penneth.

First a handful of fans in the South Stand who wanted to stand up and blocking no-ones view are getting a lot of flack. They weren,t foul mouthed they weren,t blocking anyone,s view, they weren,t putting anyone at risk. How many does the stand hold ? and even the stewards could see they weren,t bothering anyone apart from them.

Had the stand been at capacity, had they been violent and abusive, and had they been threatening anyone, I might have a different opinion but this thread is well over the top as far as I,m concerned.

Seems to me these fans deserve an apology.
