| Quote Starbug="Starbug"After reading Roys letter in the LE I would guess that he and others used to catch a bus to the Station in Leigh and found it then easier to catch another or easier then to walk to Hilton park than now get to the LSV
Having said that it would be interesting to know if we have asked any of the bus companies if they would consider running a ' Match special ' from either the town centre or further afield
Or better still ask the council why they arent doing it
, they do after all provide transport to the LSV on a daily basis for the disabled to the council run day/meeting room next to the reception area at the ground'"
is there not a bus that goes round marshall street? catch that one and get off and walk the 100 yards or so, ya lazy git.

| o run any bus service you need an operators licence the council don't need that type for disabled transport it covered under different regs, plus the council cant dictate bus routes thats down to the GMP tansport executive who have to examine every application for a new service on its merits and if any operator is willing to run them, not that easy ehh?
A private service could operate but that would be down for someone to organise and pay for it.

| i have to say thought this guy had one or two valid points with his first letter, but this scond offering is crazy, absolute madness, have these 20 disabled people spoke to the club about their problems, and how did they get to hp as opposed to lsv, the distance from the bus station to hp and to lsv is roughly i'd guess the same, so whats the problem. i have no problem having a go at our club, when ita deserved, but this is the ramblings of a mad man.

| Not having a clue if the LSV has a Bus service or not (havn't been around that end of Leigh) but Hilton Park was fairly well served by the frequent 582 and other services on the main road near the ground which did actually did drop off a number of our fans (and away ones) on matchday.
As the Fax fan pointed out losing fans can become a habit and as Leigh are in the Entertainment & leisure business Its a pity we and Wigan Council havn't been able to get a sponsor to fund the use use of one of the local Bus operaters (SLT / Jim Stones) to run a Leigh circualr Bus on Matchday (or even to get a town one to run midweek linking the town centre with the LSV / retail park and Asda in a circualr route)
Even Bolton & Stockport Councils part fund a round town (free) service so it maybe feasable to get it started
Also do the government not help fund these type of things
Whilst we can all say "he a whinging so & so" , I'm sure the the club look at it more seriously as its a loss of income.

I remember hearing about that but I've not known anyone who's actually used it? Still doesn't solve the problem of those who reach the bus station but can't make it to the ground, as they'd be halfway there anyroad if walking to said nightclub.

Appn' they could use the same methods as they did when they went to Hilton Park?

The bus routes ran a lot closer to HP than they do to the LSV though. I agree with you to an extent as, if anything, I reckon the LSV is nearer to the bus station than HP, but we have to consider those who's pre-match journey isn't driving down the bypass or a 3 hour pub tour
