Since the maintenance of the East Lancs now falls to local (ha) council (ha)
the pie eaters changed the speed limit.
The East Lancs returns to 70mph at the Golborne & Haydock boundary.

The East Lancs returns to 70mph at the Golborne & Haydock boundary.
That said, the quality of the road isn't as bad before the Haydock boundary - get in to the 70mph section (or maybe it's just before and therefore still under WMBC?) and the road is literally falling to bits.
