Thursday saw The Dragons incinerate The Giants. Thursday (whoever he/she is (Heritage Nº13)) apart, the only others to see that coming were Pubbers & Bongser. Pokemon already off for all other participants. Seven kicks o’er t’ sticks in that game (that game, strangely, doesn’t exist in the Beeb’s results section!)



Friday (ahem) saw Wanderer (as Bongser would have predicted) correctly call a Leeds victory. Pubbers kept himself in with a chance of a Poke by going apostate. Charlie also abjured the realm. Any more transgressions will see Bongser impose a fatwap on you!!







Matty was the pot, but other souls were the kettles!



Eleven successful kicks in that one. Despite the efforts of Mr “FitzKendall” (seemingly not of The House of Fraser), the BBQ was still attainable for all.



Saturday saw Wire give the Pies a good filling. Five from nine called it but Pubbers bought a pig in a pokemon. That was the end of that. Four over the crossbar (running total = 22)



We also had Batley beaten by ‘Fax (the latter now up to third in the table – damn their eyes). There were two historic points for Diggers & Sabbers and points for five others. Jack’s prediction was made in the week he scratched but as, technically, the points only count to this week there will be no revision of nomenclature. Jack, unmet mate, it isn’t personal.



Another rearranged fixture on Sunday with a rematch of The Bash meeting of Swinny & ‘Dale.

Reverse of last week. Seems Swinton prefer playing at the seaside. Only WLJ (back in the day) saw that coming.



Finally, the last of the quarter-finals with Saints edging past the holders. All attenders called it, but generally by a wider margin. WLJ again spake it closest, applause but no more points. Kicks o’er t’ sticks = 8.



Total successful kicks = 30. Bonus bang on for Tommers & Pubbers. Ten points each to those venerable gentlemen. Five points apiece for Cokey, Chuckles, Van Warmer & Bongser and three for Zools, WLJ & Wanderer. Ev’ryone a winner. Rum below!!

First up this week was a Toulouse win that was predicted by all eight in attendance at that point (apologies, Wanderer, intended to PM you a prompt but hadn’t time). A doubly good start for Van Elk with the correct margin.



A full quorum for the Trannies’ win (full house again). This time it was Atomic with the correct margin. Pokemon still on for eight players as Sunday dawned.



Let’s go to a squeaky one at LSV (uncomfortably close) but all assembled called the winner though universally by a less-anxious margin.



On to the Featherstone win. Eight called correctly with only Atomic hoping for a big shock. A third correct margin this week, this time for Cokey. Pokemon still on for seven folk.



A late kick-off saw a Barrow victory. Six called it with two bold draw predictions from WLJ & Atomic, and VL looking for a ‘Dale win.



The six remaining Pokemon hunters’ hopes exploded as Swinny pulled off a surprise at Sheffield – no points all round.



All that remained was the BBQ. 52 by Bongser’s reckoning. Varying points for all bar Pubbers (sure he’s just glad of a Leigh win). Fives for most of the others, with VL getting two.
