Matt you are very much the exception , a fan of both sports and many clubs , if we have a premiership reserve grade playing at the LSV it will be of no benifit to us

With Blackburn being a non-RL area, I think there is definitely a certain potential to try and attract them back to the LSV to take in a rugby game. Maybe even get John Cookson doing the half-time draw or summat with him being a Blackburn lad?!

A fair number of LGFC fans also attend the rugby or, at the very least, take a keen interest in the club's fortunes. That said, neither will persuade me to go and watch the Dingles very often

Lets try and get the so called ' RL mad ' population of Leigh interested in coming to the LSV before we try to help the RFL expand the game

The people of Leigh are a lost cause Steve, you've admitted as much yourself in the past. Too much negatives in the past and too much of a bad stigma.

Let's get some people who might have never given RL a try before and let them come in to things with an open mind and let themselves decide whether they fancy coming on a regular basis. And we certainly won't be helping RFL expansion as they'd all firm Leigh fans before Red Hall created Ewood Ewoks.

The ' ex ' fans are a lost cause but the people of the towns [ all three ] are far from a lost cause

They just need a lot of hard work , a bit of investment and a new angle of approach and they will come IMHO of course , and I have been known to be wrong before [ not often like ]

Trouble is, a lot of 'ex' fans know a lot of potential fans and spread the negative vibes, hence why I think outsiders of the town might fancy it.

Failing that, let's get those positive signals around the town and get changing some attitudes!

One of Blackburn’s reserves has a major influence on the future of Leigh RL, he and myself have an agreement*, similar to a previous Blackburn player and a certain rugby club.

When he’s a super rich namby pamby footballer, he’s going to fund Leigh RL and I’m going to run it.















*Ok so this agreement was settled on the basis that I’d stop putting his head under water and let him breathe, but nevertheless it was agree.
