"awwwww listen mate young kids dont need influences of rugby players they get it off their own parents and freinds. Just a bit pathetic asking for a life ban its definatly cant be used as i performance enhancing things like T5S and efferdrine are"
Think you will find T5S are a mild form of cocaine. Cocaine speeds your matabalism. So wheather or not he uses it for performance enhancing drug, its still a banned substance so should be punished.
T5's consist of three ingredients Ephidrine (found in decongestients), Caffine and asprin, Cocaine is sometimes cut with ephidrine but that is so dealers can rip off there customers and make more from the cocaine they have.

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Would never touch Cocaine, but have used T5s as they were available at most sport/neutritionalist retailers untill high grade pharmacutical EPH was put on the banned list and tbh all they do is make you really dehidrated. You can still buy all kinds of stuff like T5s at most gyms but they all now use an ephidrine substitute but can't rememeber what it's called off the top of my head.
kids who become young players who then thinks it's ok to dabble, can't believe folk are trying to defend drug takers...bizarre.
No one is defending drug users, just pointing out that the punishment is excessive for the offence. The test results showed traces, not heavy signs. That suggests that it was an 'out clubbing' type use, the effects of which would be expired by the time he hit the pitch.
To whoever called him a 'smackhead' - did someone suggest he was using heroin? Get your drugs right..
And as for the "well, they're illegal" argument - nicotine and alcohol cause more problems than most illigal drugs, this one included. The difference is that they can tax those, and so they are seen as 'OK'.
Its a matter of proportion, thats all. I'm not defending coke heads, I've no time for them at all, but am just saying that he has been punished beyond what is appropriate to the crime.
Cocaine is recognised as a drug associated with club (dance scene) use and is in effect a drug that speeds up the metabolic rate therfore it can be described as a 'performanc enhancing' drug, whether that performance can be associated with rugby is another matter . It has however always been on the banned substance list for Athletes (and RL players) It is classified as a Class A substance and to even have it in your system can be 'Possession' as per the Drugs Act therefore it is illegal and to have it in ones possession can be a maximum prison sentence of 7 years. Hardly a trivial drug one would say?
Sorry to be pedantic but it isn't. My Mrs is a copper n everyone who is arrested is for theft crimes is tested n if the test is positive they are not even asked about it let alone cautioned, they are referred to a drugs worker for help which is private and the police not involved.
Sorry to argue it is possesion according to the law, unfortunately if every positive test was charged and taken to court, the court system would collapse, this was noted by the labour government a few years ago, hence drug agencies brought in to help alleviate the problem.most go for the one mandatory visit then don't bother again.
Will you drop this whole young players will think its ok to dabble nonsense please Popman. Young players have the common sense not to use the drugs if there doing it just caus a well known rugby player does it its sad and pathetic and they need too get a grip. Yes he should be punished but 2 years is too excessive for this drug. And cociane doesnt go into t5 its more like whizz t5s if cociane was mixed with t5 you wouldnt be able to work never mind get ya energy levels up lol

As it goes, most of the problems associated with illegal drugs arise because they are illegal, in three ways:
- illegal means expensive, so users will go to any lengths to fund a habit (usually nicking stuff)
- expensive means markets are valuable, nd most drug-related violence is between dealers and gangs fighting over territory
- illegal means unregulated, and most drug fatalities come from overdoses caused by untested and unknown drug potency, or from poisoning associated with cutting drugs with other chemicals.
The authorities know this. Prohibition of alcohol in the USA fueled the rise of the mafia and caused huge social problems. Cocaine, marajuana and Heroin used to be available in the UK but the power of the alcohol trade had them banned. Queen Victoria was a laudenam addict (an opiate, sister-product to heroin), as was the fictional Sherlock Holmes (the basis for 'House' - Holmes/House, Watson/Wilson etc etc). Diamorphine is the medical name for pharmaceutical grade heroin. If it were given out free on the NHS, there would be no overdoses, no drugs turf wars, and no addicts robbing people.
None of which is relevant. The rules of RL make it a proscribed substance. If Hock's B sample tests positive, he's broken the rules and need to take the punishment.
How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
