How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
Wiganers did not attend because it was a none event. If the RFL still had a free ticket system in the early CC then the crod would not have been thet different. The price / expense whilst brought up by Wiganers whomever is just an excuse. Leigh did not attract Wiganers to the game and nor did the thought of certain defeat attract amore than 1200 Leythers either.
That probably explains why in last years CCQF v St Helens at the Pie Dome the attendance was 12,864 ,as opposed to the Home league fixture v Saints ... att 21,552. I wonder if the disparity in both attendances was down to the quality of opposition or as `salfordlad` explained was due to ST holders having to pay.
Regards having a dig at our pitiful turnout yesterday, I`d be more concerned about your own fickle fans not attending.
Now have you anywhere else to go rather than bore the pants of the rest of us.

Would the crowd have been better? Hard to say. More Wiganers would have watched Wigan v Cats, Broncos or Salford than v Leigh because the quality of opponent would have been much better. So called rivalry did not attract Wiganers tonight. The atmosphere? In the same situation NO 100% Can you imagine what bar stewards we Wigan fans would have looked like chanting and mocking 'David' in such a meaningless game.
If the game is exciting, close then fans shout / chant. Similarly they chant at match officials. At walkover matches Wigan fans never chant.
The question for Leigh is no Wigan or SL. Forget that nonsense but how can you create a team to compete v Featherstone, Halifax or Sheffield. That is the real world, a real world that saw Leigh destroyed the previous week by Halifax. Leigh seem a million miles from the best Championship teams.
Whilst I agree we are currently struggling to match Sheffield, Halifax and Featherstone, it's interesting to note that Featherstone, on their way to the League Leaders title last season, conceded 60 points to both Sheffield and Halifax!
The reason we were so pleased with last night was that we were so much better than the previous week, and we expected to concede considerably more than the 60 you scored, based on the Halifax game. And, in honesty, it was great to see Tomkins, Charnley, Richards etc, in action.
Come on Wiganers did not attend because they could not use their season tickets and thought tickets were too expensive. Had you played Cats Broncos or Salford at this round of the Challenge cup the atmosphere and the crowd would have been better ? You know the answer.
From reading the Pie board Frank ST holders had got in free at this stage in previous years so most refused to pay
If they'd have drawn London or Les Cats they would have only had one stand open .
An excellent post bar the silly jibe. Yes, the gulf was frightening and we all know the reason, full time more talented v part time less talented, too old. It was sad to watch that last night and yet you come on forums like this and think did I go to the same game as these posters. Leigh were treated with disdain, youngsters given debuts, players rested, players not even trying at times yet not a damn thing Leigh could do about it. Leigh could not make any yards whatsoever, could not win contact either in defence or attack, were getting bounced around by Charnley and Tomkins yet to hear many Leythers here you were fantastic and played a great game. Get real, it is that delusion that sees Halifax put 60 past you, Sheffield and Featherstone beat you easily.
Leigh SL 2014 "We intend to deliver the most compelling, exciting, innovative, and first class performances within the Championship – both on and off the pitch, together with our partners in Leigh Sports Village, our supporters and the community. We beLEIGHve that we will be the only clear and logical choice for the RFL to nominate Leigh Centurions for Super League in 2014" is a sick joke. You cannot even compete at a Championship Level yet your fans begrudge taking advantage of help and assistance offered to them. Bar Brierley your backline is painfully slow and will not threaten Championship teams. McNally is a pale shadow of the youngster that turned pro. Maden should be retired. Littler is a forward at best. Gardner is big but soft. Even Brierley lack the inventiveness he came into the pro ranks with. Surely Leigh would be better with some genuine fast basic backs. Burgess a kid at Wigan not ready for SL could lighjt up many a championship game. If you think Ridyard and Brierley are good, Williams and Hampshire although not ready for SL are already better.
Nobody in the Leigh squad is a SL quality player. The closest is Brierley.
Just spoke to a Wigan fan from work who went to the match and he paints a completely different picture to your version of the game, he did say the Leigh defence had no answer to Wigans attack but said at times Leigh were playing excellent on attack and throwing the ball about well.
And what, sir, would it matter if we did? We might be crowned 15th best team in the land and then be left, possibly forever and at the RFL's whim, only able to match that feat at the very best?
It does not matter what competition you play in, the aim should always be to be the best. So for Leigh that is to be better than Featherstone, better than Halifax, better than Sheffield. Win the Championship, win the NRC, play quality RL, make people want to come and watch you play.
Everybody knows the RFL structure sucks, no P & R is wrong IMO and many others but you put yourself in a position that when it changes and momentum for change is growing you are first choice. You do that by being the best in your division, playing RL that attracts Leythers to watch it and develop high quality juniors in ever increasing numbers.
Leythers of recent years have been full of self pity and blaming anyone and everybody but themselves. At their best Leyther show with LISA what they are really about BUT the majority of Leythers are apathetic and feel sorry for themselves.
Not sure who this Flyde Warrior is but just by his name he is not even a pie eater?
Ok pal lets compare shall we, how do you think Wigan stand up to their counterparts in SL? Very poor if you look at last season.
My son supports Leeds Rhino's and we went to watch them play Wigan along with a lot of other SL games, result wigan lost the lot in the leauge, Challenge cup and play offs at your, sorry Athletics ground and best of all Mr Wane choose to play Leeds. At every game your wonderful supporters had left and gone home with about 5 mins to go.
What happened in your, sorry Wigan Athletics ground last night? True fans stayed and clapped their team off when you lot had all gone home! I didnt go to the game last night but on the radio one would have thought Leigh were at home, never once heard wigan sing, and they claim to have a great atmosphere, joke just go to Leeds if you want an atmosphere in SL along with quite a few other clubs in SL.
The last thing any champ club needs is dual contract players, like no P&R its killing and starving the game of talent, excietment, and a real purpose for the sport.
I work in London quite a lot, try explaining the no P&R senario to people outside the heartlands they think its a joke and the only games worth watching, as said by people outside the heartlands are the playoffs and grand final.
Its that bad a few of the guys thought Sky sports owned the game along with Wigan its that biased.
Carry on as it is and trust me there wont be anything left, lets get back to basics before the game dies altogether.
Every club cant afford what its costing them including Wigan. The only way they are doing it is by starving the game of finance. If Sky sports ever pull the plug, and they will nothing more certain clubs like Wigan and Leeds will go semi pro and that my friend comes from your chairman!
Not sure who this Flyde Warrior is but just by his name he is not even a pie eater?
What a stupid statement, so you can tell who a poster does or does not support just by his/her user name. Where is Salfordlad when you need him.
I also like your comment that 'true fans' stay and clap their team yet you listened on the radio. Admit it that despite your name your input on the Wigan forum suggests that you are a Rhino supporter.
