Bongser, it's not Rocket Science, you only have to look at Leigh's scoring record,we don't have the ability or ruthlessness to make teams suffer, Swinton have been everybody's whipping boys recently,I feel a Leigh win is certain but again by how many?It could be our downfall.

That, Charlie, is what this thread exists for!

Btw, if you are seemingly so sure that it is not rocket science, would you mind giving Bongser an entry level guide to said science as he has always been a bit blurry on it?

Thanks, Pal! :thumb:

As we enter the last fortnight of the regular season with the sword of Damocles still tethered by a hair above our collective breast and with many on this forum getting both their brains and their knickers in a twist, Bongser will remind you of some of our ‘time capsule” answers that were buried yestermonth and are soon to be exhumed.

Prior to the Paschal double-header:

Bent&Bongser wrote:
Extra Bonus Points Available:

State before the KO of the Swinton vs Leigh game whether, in your opinion, Leigh will make the top four this season. You all know what Bongser’s answer will be and he will be weighting this bonus towards hope rather than expectation:

Should you vote “YES” (and be proved correct), you will receive (when proven) 100 points.

Should you vote “No” (and be proved correct), you will receive (when proven) a “mere” 50 points.

As ever, good luck! :thumb:

Nine combatants that weekend. Diggers was at that point still with us (as was Cokey). VL was absent. All went for Leigh being in the top four bar –

Wanderer wrote:

Will Leigh make the top four this season = No (sorry guys).

With all due respect to VL and Wanderer (whose participation Bongser both appreciates and applauds), let’s hope that VL’s absenteeism costs him more than the singular attendance point that it did at the time and that, as a result, we see Leigh contest The Middle Eights.

Second time capsule round with these questions asked before the game against The Trannies in Blackpudlia:

Bent&Bongser wrote:

Toronto, with due respect, have the meaningless shield in the bag, but Bongser asks all of the assembled (for less points than before) to name the other three Championship qualifiers for the Middle 8s.

Example answer (and using League One clubs merely to avoid leading the jury):

2: West Wales
3. Coventry
4. York

Name any of ‘em (any order) for five points a pop. All correct and in the true order will earn a further 'Pony' of points.

This pred league is far from over!

As ever, good luck! :thumb:

We have buried one more set of capsules but they will only bloom or wither further down the line.

Apologies! This programme (these programmes) somewhat later than advertised. After failing to hook up with Rochdale Marc on Monday, your correspondent encountered said Knight of the ‘Dale yestereve and interrogated the fine gentleman regarding the players coming out to the strains of “Hello! Hello! It’s good to be back.....”

Marc (a regular at Spotland/ Crown Oil whaddeva) replied by describing the announcer as a duck egg (at least that’s what Bongser heard). Marc added that upon one occasion the announcer bigged-up the team as they were about to squirt out of the tunnel with an American boxing style “Laydeez aaaand Gentlemen! Please give a big welcome to your local favourites, The Rochdale ‘ORRRNITS!!” The guy then “span a disk” for them to “gallop” out to Mike Harding singing “O it’s hard being a cowboy in Rochdale.”

Marc & Bongser had a rather bibulous liaison and so, sorry, too pi$hed to po$ht last night.

“Too pi$hed to po$ht” reminds Bongser of the magnum opus of a gentile American band by the name of The Dead Kennedys. Bongser dares the ‘Dalian “Duck Egg” to play that as the gladiators enter. There’s a beer in it for you mate!!

Now, as promi$hed (-i$h):

The Puntables!

Saturday start:

Trannies XX-YY Hornets (wonder if Canoeman will convey the dare to their announcer, but he can sausage off if he thinks Bongser will buy a Coors for any flicker).

Sunday:

Dewsbury XX-YY Batley
Featherstone XX-YY London
Halifax XX-YY Toulouse
Leigh XXX-Y Swinton
Sheffield XX-YY Barrow

BBQ: Total number of points scored (directly) from the boot (penalties, conversions and drop goals all included) in ALL SIX Championship games this weekend.

Plumb = an astonishing TWENTY points
Within ten = just that (10)
Within fifteen = 5

As ever, good luck, may the best predder win and that Welsh town again. :thumb:

Saturday.

Toronto 66 v Hairnets 10.

Sunday.

Dews 22 v Batley 26.
Fev 26 v London 22.
Halifax 28 v Toulouse, 24.
Leigh 50 v Swinton 12.Sheff 22 v Barrow 18.

Total points from the boot, is 104.

Why do folk keep thinking Leigh will get a big score?I'm being generous predicting 50, Swinton have lost Hankinson to Wigan, but I was told 3 Wigan players have gone in the opposite direction  ,I don't know who, also hopefully good to see Andy Mazey back at the LSV.Time for an Iron Jelloids, and a Cod Liver Oil capsule.
