I could not agree more. I also have a lot of admiration of the lad. Very talented. He certainly has a brain on him and that was evident way back when I first regularly saw him play at Miners. The majority of the things Leigh do well on the field still inevitably comes through Ridyard's hands and even at 33, it is great to stil see him in the team.

The thing for me Harold is at 33 riddy has to keep on top of his fitness and im not sure if he did 2nd half of the season because iv never seen riddy get caught In possession as much as he did and he did look a bit over weight,a fit riddy would get in the team before the other lads for me

And it’s a bit early to be asking if the pressure is getting to DB. It’s November 24th

As much as I have been a fan of Riddy, the signs were there for all to see last season that the big guy with the sickle, black hood and cape was standing very close to Martin.
As has been said he has never been blessed with pace but I also feel that it now is not just at ground level, he was getting caught or giving bad balls on a lot of occasions last season, the Riddy of 3 of 4 years ago would be hitting the target 99/100 and creating tries, last year it just wasn't happening as often as we needed him to convert those opportunities.
I do not see his resigning as the dealings of a club who are truley ambitious in their intentions to return to SL, unless he is a one of the cut price part time player's that will not impact much on the wage bill leaving cash over to increase the playing pool with ambitious signings.

Harry,my apologies if this has already been mentioned, but Riddy was trying to play with injections to his foot in the latter end of last season, which no doubt impacted on his performance.Woods was also sidelined with injury, and we didn't have any sufficient cover. A fit riddy will no doubt play a very important part for us this coming season.

I am firmly on the positive side with the retention of Riddy and Greg. There is a knod certainly to the need for both to be fit and raring to go and it sounds that both realize that. Also there will be a need to not have Riddy playing 80 mins a game, week in week out for the first half of the season as it will impact his ability to be effective and fit at the business end. He also needs a quality partner who can be an equal threat and therefore an equal target for our opposition.
Happy that both are staying :D

I would imagine we will go with 4 half backs In the squad and rotate them to cover 1985 cup and games v lower teams we can play the 2 part time ones possibly and the two main ones being full time will play the bigger matches
