Yes, apologies Vanners. It's time for the new extravaganza "Brasso on Ice"
Looks like Bongser gaffes started early this season. Apologies also, of course, to Pubbers - how the heck Bongser spotted a correct margin without first spotting a correct scoreline is beyond him. All enquiries to Shepherd Neame & Greene King, please.
Revised table for Round Two Catch Up Cock Up:
Pubbers on 155 j
EVVO on 107 Jj
Vanners on 90pts Jj
Charlie on 75 Jj
Donners on 65 Jj
Tommers on 63 j
Zools on 59 j
Bongser on 55 Jj
Chayders on 51 j
That decision is final
ROUND THREE ROUND UP!
Atomic & EVVO wagged the Saturday fixtures the earlier of which saw an otherwise clean sweep for we WPLeaguers as Toulouse beat ‘Dale convincingly. That said, three of our number (Chuck, Pubbers & Juan) were a mere two points out on a relatively high margin. Five points to each of those eligible.
Chayders, you played a joker on that match, but you didn’t have one available having played your only one (so far) in Round 2. Pls see below:
Quote Vancouver Leyther="Bent&Bongser"The single attendance point of last season is to be replaced by a joker fraction (j). Attend five times and thereby collect five joker fractions and you will be awarded another full Joker (J) that may again be used at a time of your choosing. Track will be kept of these in the Pred League Table. A poster for instance with a Joker available to play the following week (if he/she opts to do so) and with three further joker fractions will appear in the table in this format: PosterX: 275pts J+jjj. If available, more than one Joker may be played in a round. '"
The Toronto game was correctly called as a home win by five of those assembled, with only the two (at different stages) Round Two Weekly Winners ( ) disagreeing.
Onto the Sunday games. A hard fought Leigh victory (with Ridy top scoring for his wife against the mistress he took when the former locked him out of the bedroom) was called by all. Tommers & Vanners closest on the margin though one out either side.
Fax beating Batley saw another clean sweep though no one saw the eyebrow raisingly narrow margin of a mere two points.
Dewsbury vs Swinton was a near miss further clean sweep – only one missing out. The tie also saw a curiosity of 4 out 9 nailing the margin (three of them with the same predicted score – no copying please gentlemen or Bongser will have to send invigilators round to your homes). All though failed to convert the try by getting the scoreline. BONGSER HAS CHECKED & DOUBLE CHECKED! Congrats though to Chazzer, Chayders, Wanderer & Zools, 10 additional points apiece.
Which leaves five still in with a chance of a six-tie Pokemon as we look at York vs Barrow. Nobody expected such a tonking for the Cumbrians but four Pokemen (?) were brought home along with the bacon (100 points apiece for Chazzer, Wanderer, Zools & Bongser – and a missed Joker opportunity for three of us).
That leaves the BBQ to separate the three wrestling at the top for the Round 3 WWB (Bongser feels sure that he heard the LCTV commentary mention an hitherto unknown wrestling fed called WWE after Day’d dazed Pownall with an interesting, post tackle manoeuvre that would have seen a Leythe player suspended for seven millennia). After 20 minutes scrolling back through nigh on a week of garbage spewed out by LC Twitter, Bongser found the curiously low HT draw ticket number of 229327. This being his only source of info, he will run with it for now. All out by a country mile with Tommers out (presumably through a typo) by an “inter-continental mile”. EVVO closest but Chazzer (as BBQ runner-up) takes the laurels as the (provisional) WWB winner! Huzzay!!
So the provisional Round Three table looks thus (note that, ominously, neither of the top two have yet to table a Joker, maybe keeping their respective powders dry until the season starts to unfold and we start to see the strengths and weaknesses of each new squad):
Charlie on 233pts Jjj
Donners on 215 Jjj
Zools on 207 jj
Bongser on 197 Jjj
Pubbers on 179 jj
EVVO on 152 Jjj
Vanners on 126 Jjj
Chayders on 101 jj
Tommers on 80 jj

| Round FOUR puntables:
Batley XX-YY Rochdale
Widnes XX-YY Sheffield
Leythe XXXX-0 Trannies
Swinton XX-YY Toulouse
Barrow XX-YY Dewsbury
Fev XX-YY Fax
Bradford XX-YY York
BBQ? Leigh have not lost a single game to The Trannies thus far this season! Will the draw of the pretenders attract a bumper crowd to LSV or will the comfort of the armchair or the flow of draught ale keep folk away?
Attendance punts, please, ladies & gents.
As ever, good luck and may the scoring be correct!

I think we still have to make a prediction on the Widnes v Sheffield match even though it’s postponed. I’ll leave that to Bongser to clarify..

| I’m feeling very aloof this morning, confused about the Widnes situation, not sure what to attain here , anyway my predictions are thus.
Barrow 24 vDewsbury 16.
Batley 32 v Rochdale Hairnets 14.
Bradford 30 v York 14.
Fev 28. V Fax 14.
Leigh 12. V Toronto 34.
Swinton. 14. V Toulouse 30.
The bonus..3,037. I think the effect Sky will have on the attendance will be crucial.
Okay then I will predict the Widnes game as .
Widnes 12 v Sheff 26.

Earlier in the week I predicted a Widnes win but with all the problems I reversed the score.
I also think Sky will have an effect on the attendance. I can't believe anybody who is able to get to the match would stay at home and listen to the inane Toronto loving drivel coming from the presenters.

Absolutely correct, Atomic, your predictions will count towards the CORRECT determination of the WWB in the weekin which it is eventually (hopefully) played.
Fingers crossed for a swift and positive resolution to the crisis.

| Round 3, round up now edited into page 65. Bongser is unhappy with the reliability of a certain datum so has called the results "provisional". Could anyone demurring pls PM Bongser so that this thread doesn't get any messier.
For Zools & Juan (and anyone else) this week's puntabules are also on page 65.
NB Punt on the Widnes game whatever

This is just plain silly. Who knows if they even will complete this seasons fixtures? So I-will give my prediction at the actual time when the postponed fixtures are played, when we know what team Widnes are turning out.

Fair dos, CL, but nobody foresaw Widnes folding so early in the new season (had Bongser done so there would have been a GP scored time capsule set).
As it was, he advocated the same legislation that applied all last season for this one. He PMd all the regulars and asked for their comments. Nobody complained about the rule.
Had the 'Dale match not been postponed in Round one, it might have been possible to change the rule early season, alas not now. It comes to Bongser's ears that large, far oriental betting syndicates are wagering elephantine stakes on the winner of this year's WPL (our shortlived friend, Mr Lu (remember him) snapchatted Bongser to tell him so). Bongser hasn't the nerve to defy the Bent & Bong Tong as he may never again enjoy a special chow mein from Bamboo House, Atherton for fear of extra MSG to lethal levels
Just plain silly is how the SL Golden Point rule is viewed from this corner but, now that it has been applied to Wiggin's detriment, it will not be done away with this season. At least "First sufferers of SL Golden Point defeat" can be added to the signatures of all the bragging Pie-Aytin' RLFANS posters - though Bongser can't see that either. Perhaps he should've gone to Specsavers!
Stick with us CL

| Round Four Round Up:
Due to Widnes’ travails, we were down to six matches this week. We saw full houses on Batley & Toulouse (just – good fist made of it by Littler’s Lions). Further full houses were only scuppered by Zools plumping for a ‘Fax win and by Bongser’s adherence to Rule O (page 61). In fact, due to the spirited performance put up by The Comics, Bongser was second closest to the correct margin (Vanners closest for what it’s worth – which is nothing).
In fact Vanners, Chayders, Pubbers & Donny Juan were only thwarted in their quests for a six match Pokemon by the draw at Barrow. Juan was left high and not so dry, sweating on one more Dewsbury kick o’er t’sticks for a correct margin (fifteen points in total) whilst had such a kick scored (in reality) by Dewsbury been instead been a Barrovian one, all three of Vanners, Pubbers & Bongser would have nailed an exact score (65 points). As it was, nul points pour tout le monde.
Of the six correct punters on a York win, CL distinguished himself by nailing the margin of 10 (for a further ten) and (with no Jokers played this week) therefore led the round as we entered the BBQ. Then, sadly, the wheels came off his bus. By a margin of 533, CL was furthest out on the official attendance of 3142. Tommers was closest (a mere 31 under – 25 points for that) followed by Juanderer and then Bongser. Tomic therefore edged this round by a mere two points but enjoys the WWB of 25 to boot.
Still in the lead though that lead is now down to a mere five points (one correct winner's worth) is Charlie. In fact, after last week’s point frenzy, this relatively low scoring round sees the top seven runners unchanged position-wise. Only Atomic, in nearly doubling his season’s tally, and Chayders are trading places:
Chazzer 263 Jjjj
Donners 258 Jjjj
Zools 233 jjj
Bongo 232 Jjjj
Pubbers 216 jjj
EVVO 176 Jjjj
Vanners 159 Jjjj
Tommers 150 jjj
Chayders 137 jjj
