Well after the rain cleared up, it was quite pleasant out there in the West Stand.

The Queen was indeed there, dressed in pink.

One slight disappointment is that she didn't say anything. There was a speech by Lord Peter Smith, but the Queen didn't make a speech.

She unveiled the plaque, and then went to have her dinner.

My daughter got picked today to go to the opening so a "Pike" family member did get to see the Queen
