No , but there isn't anything that can be done about it , so we suck it up grit our teeth and wait till next season , much like plenty of other fans do year on year , how much fun has it been being a Swinton fan for the last 30 years ?
We are Leigh Centurions , it won't be great all the time , if that isn't good enough , then go watch Wigan instead
Harold , given how long you've been watching the clubs various teams , you know we have times like this , but you also know that it will change again for the better
We can all look back at better times , we can analyse every little mistake on or off the pitch , and indeed some big ones , but it won't change , because you cannot change the past , you can hope that the same mistakes won't be made again , but you certainly can't guarantee new ones won't be made

Thanks for the advice. I doubt there will be many takers on that but still.. I thought you were justifying Derek doing what he wants when he wants. My apologies.

In truth , yes he can , but he isn't an idiot , just try to imagine how fed up he is right now , as you've alluded to , he's followed a professionals advice , paid out a shed load of money ( not getting into any arguments about how much , but certainly as much as all the fans combined contributions over the last 3/4 years ) and been rewarded with what this year ?
So I'm happy to cut him some slack , get us through till the end of the season , sort out the finances to the best of his ability and then put out a team of some description next year , at whatever level he decides
He will then stay or go , again his decision to make , till then I'll just go and watch and applaud the efforts of whoever wears the shirt

Well your the one who thinks we should be spending money elsewhere other than on the first team squad- which is all well and good. How do you suggest we approach next season, with Dereks boom or bust again or by telling him to do one, and start again and grow from scratch
You were part of the consortium that got it wrong last time, presume lessons have been learned for your experience to advise better this time round

What did we get wrong , we made SL ?
No idea how we approach next year , I don't really care as long as there is a team to watch
I told Derek not to get involved again , because I knew the this was the most likely outcome , but he's never listened to me anyway , do I want him to stay or go ? , I want whatever is best for him , I certainly wouldn't want him to over stretch his finances chasing other people's dreams and ambitions , if he feels he wants to and has the cash to go for it again then fine , if he's had enough then he goes with my thanks for a wild ride , if he's happy to hang around and keep us bobbing along in the Championship , great :
I've just watched Toronto beat Leeds and well done to them, on the field at the end were Higson , Brierley, Hopkins,Kay,what would we give to have a couple of these in our team now?
Sam Hopkins I would take back in a heartbeat, AJ will go well at Championship level, Brierley & Kay have not so much burnt their bridges as blown them to smithereens River Kwai style !
I would like to see what's best for the Club. Not what's best for Derek. But all to their own.
" Best for the club " well there are probably a million different answers to that conundrum
Some say it's build our own team via youth , some just want a billionaire to chuck an endless amount to win everything , personally I doubt either of those is going to happen
So what in your opinion is the ' best for the club ' short term and long term ?
