Need a squad of 28 or so I reckon, seem thin on the 3/4 and full back positions - and those props don’t look as strong now we’ve moved up with the big boys

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

Thanks Jb :thumb:
I can see Ryan B being used in a similar fashion to Stefan Ratchford, moving between halfback and fullback when needed. I have always believed he is a future fullback and that future could be now.
I look forward to seeing people’s opinions on what/who we still need and who we will actually be able to add.

According to a report yesterday in Total Rugby League, Ryan Shaw has gone out on loan. I don't know where to but it looks like it is to a Championship club. Do not know the reason why but i am following this with interest particularly given that he covers the positions where at the moment our squad appears to be short on numbers. Nothing as yet on the club website (nothing unusual there) to confirm this but assuming that the news is correct it perhaps indicates that there are incoming players due in these positions (wing/full back and possibly centre).
On the subject of the club website, i was particularly disappointed to see absolute zip written about Greg McNally being released. He was a tremendous player for us. Terrific in attack, scored a bucket loads of tries and he was with us for the best part of 10 years. I think that because of all this he was worthy of a few well chosen words of gratitude and best wishes by the club at the very least.
The club get's so much right and should rightly be applauded for it but this is just one of those examples, all too common to the club website, where we get it badly wrong. McNally, and i think us the fans deserve better. Come on Mike Latham get your finger out!

Shaw wishes to remain part time and complete his apprenticeship based on other reports - shame really but makes space for someone else

Thanks for the low-down on the Shaw position.
I see that we have just signed Lewis Tierney from Catalans.
A big Christmas welcome to Lewis.
Plenty of pace and plenty of SL experience and just the right age ie not over the hill. A signing for just the positions where we are, at present, a little short. I think that this is a good signing.
Merry Christmas everyone.

Lewis Tierney added to the squad for 2021 great signing SL standard player and a bit of much needed pace added to the back line. Great signing Derek. Couple more quality signings SL or NRL standard and we are looking good. Any suggestions on who you would like next for the New Year wish list?

Dom Manfredi and Chris Hill.

Ideally a Fullback would be a huge help. We have 6,7,9 and 13 but no specialist number 1

Just read elsewhere that Shaw has actually signed a two year deal with Barrow rather than being a loanee.
