I thought he went very well indeed, played in the second row and looked for the ball quite a lot and was solid in defence putting quite a few big hits in. Am I correct in saying he played the full 80?

Yes he did indeed play the full 80 minutes and for a debut did well

Put a cracking dummy pass out and a good sidestep to score his try............will turn into a very good player with more game time under his belt.
