Re: Weekly Prediction League? : Wed Jul 17, 2019 10:08 pm
KEY TO THE DOOR ROUND ROUND UP:

First and foremost it should be noted that, previously ever present (over two seasons) Atomic could not be “DRAWN” to the table this week despite two PMs (still unread as Bongser preps this post in Word). It is very much unlike A to be offline for so long and we must hope that all is okay with him and his. :thumb:

Zools also missed the first game. Bongser will not reveal the content of his PMed apology but will state that he recalls being a toddler and being stripped and washed whilst mainly sitting on the draining board of the kitchen sink at Ol’ Gramps & Grannie Bongser in Bedford. Zools, do you live in Lowton near Pennington or Lowton, Pennsylvania?

To Rugby.

Bongser does not have SKY. He does not follow Oz RL, knows very little about it and was, therefore being very open handed on the BBQ this weekend.

He did, however, do a little research and looked up the Ozzy clubs, their results, standings, locations and histories. The Wiki page for Illawara contains details of all sports commonly played there. One of the ones mentioned revels in the name of “Sambo Wrestling”. Your correspondent’s mind boggled. He recalled reading of the Dwarf Throwing World Championship (complete with b/w pics) in same Gramps’ Daily Mirror (some years on from being a toddler it must be stressed). When looked into further, it seems that said wrestling is not un-PC whilst still remaining extremely violent.

No less than three Jokemons played this week – Pubbers, Wanderer and Vanners. The early KOs this week proved no problem for all three and samesies for all others present. No correct margins in those games but a mention in despatches for Cheadle Leyther (dignified with full Sunday name, rank & serial number) who was closest on both of the Saturday matches.

Onto Sunday, a massive day for British sport:

Bottas had taken pole from Hamilton by 0.006 seconds in qualifying for the British Grand Prix. That’s six one thousandths of a second, F1’s version of Golden Point to avoid a DRAW. As it transpired Hamilton gained a record sixth GBGP in an, as ever, flawed race. Bongser hadn’t enough devices on which to watch or listen to all today’s sporting action, so he sacrificed this multi-billion spondoolix, shoddy product for the others.

Championship RL.

Approaching HT, the scores as they stood would’ve seen not just three Jokermons blown out of the water, but everybody bar Chayders (again) zilch out on ALL the Sunday games. At least the thing that changed was a score and a slender lead for Leigh before the turn around!

Our lads went on to win reasonably comfortably (ahem) to give all another five points. CL this time joint closest on the margin alongside EVVO. The former playing a blinder.

That would have seen a DRAW, Charles, and no one would have scored any points. Widnes didn’t score a “double score” and Chayders (him again) flew solo in correctly going for a ‘Fax win. Were it next season, he would have collected the proposed “Idiot” bonus. He was however the only one to scoop five in that match. Bravo to him!

Zilch per tutti in the match at Odsal. This from last week’s summary:

EVVO decided it was time to move up the table by predicting a Swinny draw. EVVO, Bongser has learnt to his many time cost that they never draw should anyone suggest they will!

Swinton are the Looby-Loos of this WPL – they only dance or DRAW when Andy & Teddy are out of the room! Still, a stunning result for them.

ANOTHER DRAW at Mount Unpleasant saw all zilch once more. When was the last time there were two DRAWS in one Championship round? Bongser texted Aggers (who used to be pretty good at stats) but received the reply “Sod off, I’m busy at Lords”.

The DRAW phenomenon continued there. A DRAW after fifty overs apiece, a DRAW after the Super Over. It also continued at The All England Club with the men’s final going beyond the distance.

BBQ? EVVO bang on (25 points), Chayders (18), followed by Vanners (15) – Bongser keeping himself off the podium by applying his own rules correctly as they had DRAWN but VL had posted earlier.

Though Chayders deserved to at least DRAW this week (great performance, matey), the WWB goes to EVVO.

J ARTHURS:

Chazzer 1,389 JJ
Bongser 1,332 J
Wanderer 1,324 JJ
Vandaman 1,201 J
Pubbers 1,145 J
Zools 1,096 JJJJ (STILL the main Joker hoarder)
EVVO 1,117 JJJ
Chayders 946 JJJ
‘Tommers 777 JJjjjj

Apologies for this late Round Up. Bongser et la Jeunesse celebrated five years together earlier this week by going for a good few drinkies and a meal in Mcr. Bongser had meant all day to look up what the 5th anniversary was called (cotton, paper, that sort of thing). Romantic that he is, Bongser treated her to a chauffeured, purple liveried, double-decker, stretch limo (with the personalised reg plate “V2”) back to The Towers. The fifth is apparently wood – so, bless him, this “lover” gave her some!

That last bit for VL.

Toulouse 36 v Sheff 14.

Dewsbury 16 v Fax 28.
Fev 52 v Rochadale 10.
Leigh 34 v Batley 10.joker.
Swinton 26 v Barrow 16.
York 24 v Bradford 26.
Widnes 12 v Toronto 36.

The bbq question is simple if you are drinking Draft Turps , myself I refrain from these beverages so it’s a puzzling question.

Now it been explained, it’s obvious, and I didn’t need Bongser to explain it,the guy next door but one has just been released from Rampton ,he worked it out straight away.

Anyway I’m going for a decent crowd to welcome the signings, 4,101 , to show Derek we care.

Didn't think it was that cryptic. Okay, translated: Leigh are back at LSV for the first time in yonks. What will the attendance be?

As a certain meerkat says, "Seemples" :thumb:
