| Quote gunners guns13="gunners guns13"with it looking like Josh woods is injured for a few weeks and riddy carrying a injury plus it doesn't look like Richardson will be back I think the club have done well to get Ryan even if it is for a month to cover he injuries'"
I agree with what you're saying Gunner. I just don't think with the handful of games he's played with Toronto is of benefit to us over a 4 week period, but if we have no halfback, then we have little choice but to take him on. Not sure what, if any, the other options where.

Will Ryan fill in? Yes..'"
So under the circumstances, what would you have done different?

The question would be, was that the only available option? I can't answer that. If it was fair enough. Not sure what happens in 4 weeks time as that injury on Josh didn't look good.
I hope Mr Beaumont is enjoying this..

| So he's back *temporarily* !
If it's just to cover injuries in the short term then fine, I can go with that. If it is with a view to a permanent deal in future then I think it is another backwards step, a-la Emmit !

| I'm glad we've signed Brierley, hopefully he'll be our number 7 for the rest of the season.

| I will defer to anyone who can tell me otherwise but i doubt a beter option was out there right at this moment at what ever the price was (loan so not likely much)
We need a proven halfback with pace, right now, Ryan is that man.
Yes i would like to see him stay also, but for now id be stunned if a better fit for us existed now or in the next 3 weeks.
I am also very sure Mr B is very happy with the situation.
Always look on the bright side of life

| I dont what all the fuss is about.
October 2018, I would have laughed at the thought of Ryan playing for us again because of our financial plight, but come on....... He is a quality player at this level and we havnt really got much pace in the team really do we ?
I think DB is eyeing a top 5 finish, and why not ? None of us would have thought this at the start of the season.
I am sure it will become a season long loan, but who knows ? Is Degsy getting a sniff of the glory again ?

| Folk keep saying signing Ryan is a step backwards HOW .?Its the same as signing Riddy, McNally,Emmitt, Laithwate ,Pownall,Spencer, even Mickey Higham, all ex players,if that’s the case then we should be bottom of the League with all these backward steps.
Ryan brings so much to the team, pace , kicking , goal kicking, can score tries, and is a great support player, since he left. He has developed a ball distribution skill, and will add quality to your team.
For me wanting to return to Leigh shows his love for the Town, and we should make him welcome, I know I WILL.

| I would assume that Brierley is temporary cover for the absence of Richardson and that when Saints get Fages back then the loan would end.

Possibly, reffy. However, there is a great risk of taking a key play maker as D/C. Injuries to Fages/Lomax will have Richardson back at Saints in a flash. We need 'our own' players in key positions, for my money. I reckon the month long loan is to allow time to sort out something more permanent.

| I get what you are saying Reffy but if this loan of Ryan shows he is the player we need AND he shows he is committed to our cause, then i would look to get him season long over a DC who can be called back at any time.
Again I belive he fits what we need right now and in a months time will be even more ready to fit what we will need going forward this season.
Lets not also ignore that he is somewhat stepping into the lions den (or eating humble pie if thats your view) in doing this. That shows me that he realises he has a point to prove and is willing to take it full on.
Good on him for that in my book.
We all have our various differing views for what ever reason but i think this could be a huge positive for our club at this point of the season.
Always look on the bright side of life !
