I honestly can't understand the way the club have approached this. If announcements had been drip fed through over the last week or so, people would be feeling quite good about how the squad is building up, whilst knowing there are still gaps to be filled. It would've also allowed a bit of discussion to build on social media about signings such as Ince, Addy and Hellewell instead of announcing things that are already widely known, with a message of "come back in 30 mins for the next one".

If they insist on announcing them in bulk like this, don't do a week and a half countdown with the promise of fireworks. Feels like they're trying to replicate the impact of last year's announcements, but that was from a position of fans being grateful to have any players at all.

I think any neutral watching that today would say we are short on recruitment. I’m not sure what the marketing ploy was other than showing the core players with gaps.

The gaps are around 10 players missing to even stand a chance of hitting top 5. I hope there is a part two in place or we are in trouble.

Very poor marketing which should be building up to season tickets and shirts/merchandise.

Quite damaging for the club in my eyes.

I agree a outsider looking in surely must be chuckling away to themselves build up this countdown scenario to the big display and then the biggest anti climax ever known I for one was disappointed yesterday even though I knew not to expect anyone bigger than Addy

Agreed. Unless there are some decent signings to come, top 5 will be a difficult slog, never mind promotion.

Assuming they are clever enough, the whole point of yesterday was to profile the core squad. Assuming they have done it right the attention seeking signings will come at the point of ST/shirt release - which would be a basic but sensible marketing strategy

If yesterday was the best we’ve got, then yes it was not very impressive at all

Sadly, I was disappointed, given the huge build up. Yet, I'm pleased at the lads we have retained so far, and the newcomers, such as Addy, Wildie, Ince, Mason, and Hellewell, are good acquisitions, and probably improvements, at this level. (I don't know anything about Glohe and Field)

So, why should I be disappointed? Well, the countdown definitely suggested something extra special was going to happen, plus my expectations, given some of the names we/the media (not the club) have been banding about, have led me to think that there were going to be some 'top class' arrivals. Four of those arrivals - Addy, Wildie, Mason and Ince have been reported, by the media, for some time now, so they weren't surprises. Maybe that has led me to believe that some of the other names featuring in the media, (e.g. Wallace, Sammut, Ellis) might be about to provide the element of class/something special, that the current named squad is lacking?

As we appear to have only one half back, no fullback and maybe four props, there have to be further announcements, so here's hoping they provide the class we will need to challenge for top two, never mind Super League.

And finally, when are the next announcements likely to be? "That's all for today, but stay tuned for more soon" is pretty vague, after the big build up, isn't it?

They waiting on a couple of players accepting offers so they can announce some more resigning on for another year. We have a good core but need a few players in there than can get us around the park effortlessly

.....plus/including the class that can provide something extra, in a tight game. We didn't have that last season, so here's hoping we can this time around.

Very disappointed with those signings.

Gregg McNally needs to resign for me, we aren't half the attacking threat without him, similar player to Gareth Obrien in that he runs the same arc, commits defenders and can pass like a half.

Most teams play to the edges now and need a good final pass which he provides aswell as being solid under a high ball.

We will get hammered down the middle Toulouse, Sheffield & Fev have recruited better so far.
