Re: Squads v Tigers : Fri May 05, 2023 9:40 pm
A draw at half time was fair, though it was a very, very weak try to concede.

I'm not one to really criticise refs but Moore is consistently inconsistent and this can cause the game to get to an unnecessary boiling point very early on in proceedings.

Cas players that stood out were Westerman, Miller and their winger Wallis looked very handy.

But back to Leigh and having only seen highlights and reports of the Wakey game I can only assume that was the same game plan we employed tonight. Keep it tight first half, make an opposition team short of confidence over work and then put the hammer down in the second half.

And what a second half, we were as equally good and Cas were equally error-ridden and tired. A fine effort across the park tonight, though still felt some needlessly hurried plays and trying to force the game leading to many bombed chances.

Nice to see the team having a good laugh at Mulhern's near 30 yard dash for the line, he really is coming on well. Ava had a good game and I'm Holmes is making strides.

Nice that we could rest a few players with 10-15 to go too.

Josh on the other hand...not scored for a while...I'd be looking to replace

First game was in 1967, and have been hooked since day 1. Now live in Vancouver, Canada but follow our team any way I can.

Thanks for the update DK. BBC Radio Manchester were their usual unreliable self with no Radio coverage despite there being a link to it on their own website. Thanks to the twitter updates folks who were my only source of info.
Great to hear that Ava had a decent game. He is a huge unit, (I shook his hand earlier in the year at a training session), and he could be a huge asset if he can find his fitness and form.
I see my man Kai scored again. What a player this young man is.
I’ve seen some negative comments about Holmes in the past weeks but he seems to be playing big minutes and what I’ve seen he looks to be really putting in good shifts in attack and on defence.
Sounds like Ben R also had a good game with a try and conversions (did he make every one ?)
Lam senior said it would take 8-10 games for us to really start to see our potential. Well he was bang on and we can now expect to see us get better still as the fine tuning continues.
If anyone is still looking over their shoulder, stop it, we are top 8 all the way, and good enough for a playoff spot if we can stay healthy.

Well pleased. Record number of SL (competition) points already whilst 3.5 games to half-way in the season. Bongser might start listening to Vanners' ravings soon!!

Think that that was the first time that Leigh have won three on the trot!

Interesting tactics from Uncle Adrian - no interchanges until about 10 mins into the second half. Wtf -they worked. Wonder if he is, small squad that we have, prepping for inevitable absentees later in the season by creating the fittest pack in the whole World EVER!

Thoughts please. COYL.

First 20 mins we really went at cas but felt a little frustration was creeping in that allowed cas to have a sniff of a result but that defence of ours really is a joy to watch committed , brave , brutal at times it really does knock teams off their game .2nd half after Lammys half time chat , what can I say only us in it , still in search of the 80 min performance but good result non the less . From a neutral point of view the classy cas has definitely gone , no real go forward in the pack take westerman out of that side and they get done by top 4 championsip sides. On to Huddersfield now who are not performing as expected, get that result and play offs are a definite possibility.

Out of sorts first half, tried to play the Miracle ball at times, second half different class . Lam head and shoulders above anything in this league , absolutely outstanding

If you start listening to my ravings, you’d be the first one, ever :D
I’d love to see a couple of additions to our numbers but not sure who if anyone is out there to improve the squad quality. We do have Wardle to come back, who never lets anyone down and will be a strong addition once back.
Right now, I couldn’t be happier. We have some of the best value for money, quality players, who I’m sure many other teams are wishing they had. We also have the best coach to bring the team together and keep fine tuning.
I’m a very happy Leyther right now 8)

Thoughts please. COYL.
