The Secret to Leigh's Success : Mon Jun 05, 2023 10:35 am
Adrian Lam is building something special at Leigh. A ragtag band of misfits, gnarly veterans, cast-offs and some shrewd scouting have come together to create a unique blend of entertaining Rugby.Lammy in his after match interview (Magic Weekend) talked about his son Lachy, “We got him here just before the closing date of the recruitment for Leigh last year. I know he was frustrated playing at the Roosters, he was 18th man every week of the year and hadn’t played much game time so I’m glad I convinced him to come and get his love and fun back into his game.
He went on to say, “That’s the key for most players at the professional level. We brought 14 new players to the club this year and I thought all those players lost the love and fun side of rugby league whilst they’ve been away but coming to us, including him, have been rejuvenated by that edge.
“And when they are in that position of enjoying themselves, that’s when you get the best out of every player.”
John Asiata had previously talked about "losing the love for the game", and how he found it at Leigh last season.
Obviously other like Josh Charnley are enjoying their time at Leigh, after the rejection and dejection suffered at Warrington last season.
I personally am proud that Leigh is a good working environment and a happy place to be. Hopefully this will make retention so much easier for Chezzy as the Leopards build towards the back end of the season and into next season.
