Leroy wants to be fullback : Mon Jul 27, 2009 7:48 am
LEROY CUDJOE still believes his future lies at full-back – despite producing another dazzling wing performance. The 21-year-old former Newsome Panthers junior grabbed the second Super League hat trick of his career in yesterday’s convincing 36-12 triumph over Catalans Dragons at the Galpharm Stadium. Cudjoe last season scored three tries in a 19-18 home defeat to Warrington Wolves when he was playing at full-back. But even though he has produced some outstanding displays on the right wing over the past six games and scored a highly impressive nine tries, he still has his sights set on taking Brett Hodgson’s No1 shirt further down the line. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t enjoying this spell on the wing,” said Cudjoe. “I’ve been scoring a lot of tries – which is what the coaching staff want from me – and my confidence is sky high. “But I don’t think I’d ever class myself as a winger ahead of being a full-back.
