Poor service from the club !! : Tue Aug 04, 2009 1:53 pm
I recently encountered a problem at the Huddersfield/Wakefield game at the Galpharm.
As some of you may know they were doing a special deal for "the emergency services". The ad was offering tickets at £10 adults and £5 concessions, so I phoned them up and asked how many tickets I could legitimately purchase, and was initially told that it only applied to the emergency service member, however when I asked why they were advertising tickets for concessions too, the "youth" in question checked the ad, and then told me that there was nothing to say I couldn't purchase more than one ticket, so then agreed that I could purchase 4 adults and 2 kids tickets, and that there was no need to pre-order them and that I could collect them on match day.
I duly phoned my brother in Knaresboro' and told him that I was able to purchase 4 discounted tickets, so they then agreed to come down as they weren't initially going to bother due to the cost involved.
On match day I went to the ticket office, and asked to purchase the agreed 6 tickets, only to be told that I could only purchase 1.
I again pointed out to the young lady on the desk the advert, and mentioned my phone call the day before, at which point she went away to seek clarification. She duly returned and confirmed that I could only purchase 1 ticket. I then asked why the ad included concessions, only to be told that it could apply to someone who is 60. I asked her how many 60 year old firefighters/ambulance drivers/police officers she knew, but she couldn't answer. Suffice to say that my brother and his family had to fork out money which they could not really afford, having been promised discounted tickets.
I have e-mailed Hudds, but have basically been called a liar, as "my version of events differs from the office staff" and they have since refused to answer my valid query to explain the situation !!
Rachel Chambers did initially reply, and allegedly spoke to Richard Thewliss, who offered me discounted tickets for the remainder of the season, "to retain and build upon the support that I have shown to the club", but when I pointed out that we are Wakefield fans, I have heard nothing since
All I want is clarification from the club, and ideally an apology for posting a mis-leading advert, and for being called a liar !!!
Is that too much to ask ???????????????
