First of all ‘well done Toronto’ came with a plan executed it very well. One of my colleagues who was watching RL for the first time summed it up they had a plan you did not.
From the end of the first set where Sam Wood got needlessly trapped in goal you knew it wasn’t gonna be ‘our night.’
I could go on about the largely powder puff pack, or disorganised backline in detail but what hurt most was the lack of passion as we really looked like we didn’t want to be there. They we’re collectively not ‘up for t’cup.’
It was obvious 20 minutes in that with both Holmes and Russell on the field it wasn’t working the pass timing was lacking forwards trying to run onto the ball at speed having to stop as the pass wasn’t where it should have been.
The game was gone when SW introduced O’Brien, when it was obvious things needed changing. McCrone could have worn a white ‘tux’ and not needed it, our line speed was so slow, face it we were ‘bossed’ start to finish.
Well hopefully after SW gives them some more time off it’s on to Hull and better things, but boy was Joe Wardle missed last night although on hindsight most of our 17 were missiing too......
