Oh everyone please get a grip FFS.
Let's see some positives. It was bad enough at the game with all the whinging.
1 Batley played very well.
2 LOD played very well
3 We got away with making many changes and still won
4 It was a win
5 It was a win
I saw Bramley draw 24-24 with Wigan in the CC in 1984 and it would have been a win to Bramley had a guy called Shaun Kilner not miss a last minute drop goal by inches - they went on to Wembley.
Giants were down and out against Cas two years ago and playing terribly - they went on to Wembley.
It's a big game v a weakened Sts next week. i'd rather everyone keep their best performances for that when a full strength team will be out.
It's been years since I've been to Batley and I forgot how steep the pitch is. Batley used it well and came out of the blocks in Defence. Giants Didn't. But at the end of the day no-one cares if you win by one or one hundred and one in the cup.
Good post and I agree wholeheartedly.
Yes, we were poor. But didn't deserve to win? No way.
Our main problem seems to lie in the mental attitude when playing 'lesser' teams. If blame is to be apportioned then it surely must be at the coaches' doors. [Like setting off with no thought to Bank Holiday traffic!]
And one for the Dodgy watchers. Why on earth did he attempt to catch that high ball one-handed? Hasn't he had enough coaching for high balls? Must do better. [He caught it? Oh, never mind!
