If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

Eorl will no doubt be gutted as he was running in harder in pre-season and will no doubt have finally wanted to force himself in the GB picture this season. He is a bit unlucky IMO there.

Kevin Brown played extremely well at 6 too. Superb break and pass for Hodgson's try.

Hope you don't mind my trolling but I saw highlights on SL show and was really impressed by the linkup between Brown and Robinson. It looks like a pretty balanced partnership and a pair of halves who know each others games and are well positioned for each other. I think you guys might actually have had a turn of good fortune in Carney's visa rejection inasmuch as you've found a partnership in the halves that really works, and the fact that their both English/ British is good for us all in the game over here.

Well done down there, a great result and probably the best and most comprehensive performance from a team so far this year.

Well done Giants. I'll be keeping one eye on your results this season with so many ex Reds in the squad. We're not likely to trouble the top 8 this season so i hope you have a good one. Hodgson (D) and Korki deserve it. It'll be good to see them at the Willows again this year.

He pulled up limping - possibly hamstring? Or maybe dead leg...went off and didnt come back on. Fingers crossed its not serious.

He looked in bl00dy agony. He was feeling his hamstring after his first hit. Then suddenly he was hopping around like a scolded cat. Let's hope it's not a bad tear just a strain but it didn't look good to me. Only downside to a great team performance - especially when you consider we did it with 16 men. Step up Mr Korkidas.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war"

According to the superleague website Stephen Wild made 50 tackles, a phenomonal effort which I think deserves a special mention. Looks like he wants Mr Raleigh's top tackler award this year.

Korkidas gets an early chance then.

From what I saw last night Griff was real good. He beasted Mogg, then totally winded Ryles. Looks like a good season ahead for the big man.

Mason looked good from the highlights too, taking the ball up really strongly. Jacko, Mace the ace, Griff and Korky can do a job while Eorl recovers.

Isn't it great not to have to wait 6+ weeks for our first win!
