fickle fans? dont think so. more an opinion, this is a forum

We were not full cap when we got to the CCF and finished 5th. Our best in over 40 years. If you need to bag Sharp do it with facts not untruths - otherwise it looks like you are taking cheap shots.

Sad that a thread that could be positive about NB was spoiled from the start by the need to take digs a a previous coach

Comparisons will be made, I also remember how many 'Jon Sharp Fans' turned up to watch us play York City Knights in the CCup after those 7 defeats in 2007 - most of these people bagging Brearley84 weren't there.... I remember it well as it was the last game Nic went to before she had Tom.

It was a case of needs must. We didn't have an out and out fullback at the club.

So Paul Reilly really was a winger then? He'd played at FB for the earlier part of his career just waiting for the opportunity to shine in his natural position? :?

As i understand it we had tried to sign a full back which got knocked back at the last minute thus went into the season without a recognised full back. that was not sharps fault.

Refer to above post.

reilly was at the end of his career and there were concerns about his fitness. this was seen by the number of appearances he made for wakefield when he left.

If you were to argue that we should have kept Donlan i would be more sympathetic.

His limited appearances for Wakefield were du largely to a recurring back problem.

Which is related to Ftness age etc which is why the plan was to release him for a healthier full back. that then fell through and left us with thorman to fill in.

Sorry, can't see how pulling a back muscle is related to age. My daughter is one of the fittest people I know yet she has horrendous back problems.

In his last season with us Reilly was a far better full back than Thorman ever would be yet Sharp played CT at full back & PR on the wing. There was no let down in signings that season.

I know what you're saying, but I thought we were talking about the season Sharp was sacked. Reilly should've been released the season you're talking about and we should've kept Donlan IMO. He was on the slide whereas Donlan was doing very well.

What do you think to the suggestion that fan's opinions swayed the decision to keep Reilly?
