The Huddersfield Lunch Time Club is an informal meeting of people with an interest in local history. It meets every two months in the Light Reading Room of the library. The next meeting is on Wednesday 11th March and I have been invited to speak on the theme "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller".
This saying was one of two things that inspired me to start writing my novels. The other inspiration is Rugby League which was a major event in the history of Huddersfield as a result of that fateful meeting at The George Hotel on the 29th August 1895.
The meeting starts at 1 p.m. light refreshments are provided and everybody is welcome to attend.

I forgot to mention that this event is free and if anybody can't make it, I'll also be signing copies of One Winter and One Autumn in WH Smith this Friday from 11 onwards, a mothers' day present for someone maybe!

Both books are £9-95 each with 180 pages and a few illustrations.
Signed copies if you get one on Wednesday or Friday but also on sale in the Rugby League Heritage Centre in the George Hotel, WH Smith and Waterstones or via my web site below.
