sort of, i think our lads kind of realised they were gonna win the game without needing to 'perform' by sussing out Celtic early on - they were poor , we didnt need to be good to get the 2 points which we did - easily- and no one (hopefully) took any knocks.

fair play to Celtic they made a bit of a fight of it in the 2nd half but i feel for them really - to be honest i dont think they are quite ready for SL yet, but good luck to them and their cracking bunch of fans - well done last night guys and nice to meet one or two of ya and put names to faces !

If London is Athens, Yorkshire is Sparta, a tougher community and proud of it.

The Celtic boys will have to come in the Antich next time. They'll have a better time for it IMO as well.

They were in Ropewalk after and they never shut up and some good banter between us - fair play to them, they could have just sat in a corner and been quiet being the new boys but they didnt they mingled and chatted with us .

Good on them. Hopefully they'll have had a good time and will bring a few more next year as a result.

very surreal game i thought, we did enough to win but in all fairness we were poor, but not sure if that had anything to dowith not having to raise our game, no disrespect to celtic but they were as poor a team as i've seen for a while, defensively they did ok (held us up 4 times) but offensively they were very very poor
im just hoping that we were reserving most of our energies for the next 2 games

I have a different slant on the game.
Although Celtic`s attack was a lot of one out runs from the forwards and a few passes going astray, I thought their defence was pretty spot on, which made it very hard for our players to shine. You can only play as well as the opposing defence is going to let you.
It was always going to be a banana skin type of game, and we came out pretty well.

I think you're exactly correct there mate. We did enough to win the game comfortably without getting out of 1st gear. There's plenty of petrol left in the tank for Monday now where as Hull KR had to run their blood to water and will tire on monday rapidly. IMO that was the perfect game last night in preparation for Monday.

P.s.
Nice to see you again last night mate, it's been ages.

we cant afford to do that at hull kr

I'm sure it'll be a totally different game plan on Monday mate. Last night was a case of getting through the game with a win without putting the bodies on the line, keep the ball alive to reduce the numbers of times we're tackled. Monday they'll be told that less than 100% will not do.

We are going to have to be much, much better without a doubt, or we'll be coming back to West Yorkshire with nothing.
