Huddersfields dirtiest player ? : Tue Jul 07, 2009 10:00 pm
who was Huddersfields dirtiest, roughest or meanest player that you can remember.
It is a bit hard to work out due to the fact that pre superleague RL was a very different one to what it is now. In years gone by the game was much dirtier and rougher ( contested scrums definitley) contributing to the gladatorial element.
van Bellen had a tough reputation and i remember that in the 70s and 80s jimmy Johnson and Graham Swales were usually involved when things kicked off.
Now we have Keith Mason as the enforcer which Peacock learnt the hard way.
But i would have thought that in recent times it must be Paul Reilly. Ultra competitive and one of the few players who could start a fight when in posession of the ball. Still a Fartown legend and someone you would rather have on your team than against you.
