It was probably the saints hero Murphy who started our revival. I can remember playing saints in the cup at Knowsley Road and he got a standing ovation before the game as he walked over to the dug out. How many would get that nowadays. Who would have even dreamt that 15 years on we would be beating them fair and square to book our place at wembley
i was saying last night, i used to watch the cup final every year and dream of seeing a team in claret and gold there, of course there was ( in the late 80's/early 90's)more chance of batley winning the cup than fartown....but twickenham was unreal, even getting to the 2004 semi was a dream...but in 2009 i will finally see the colours that,that ragtag team of local,game-for-it lads turning out for a packet of fags a game used to wear AT WEMBLEY
