Cost i think, anyway a late Ollie Russell drop goal sealed a dramatic late win 21-20 to book a semi-final spot, Well done to Luke Robinson, Andy Kelly and everyone involved with the Academy, it's a superb achievement.

They kept saying we couldn’t use pitch at last minute so had to find pitches at short notice, played at Moldgreen for two years until Ronan died there that’s why they left for Lockwood, ymca didn’t really want us there while Lockwood park been great and welcoming

Do we prioritise this over the first team now regarding senior & Wardle?

The club should allow the U19s to play in the Semi Final

With nothing to play for some of the senior players will rack the cue and mentally go on their holidays, that’s just a natural human trait and like it or not it’ll happen. That accepted, what value is there for Wardle, Senior & Russell in playing in such a game Vs playing in a tense meaningful knock out match against a fired up Wigan Academy?

In terms of development alone the Academy game offers more to these players than an inconsequential Super League game. Then there’s the prestige that may come the clubs way if a full strength Giants Academy go to Wigan and win!

What thewlis sent to hgsa today
It is a great shame the side may be weakened to a degree in the semis due to players being in the first team (and some key injuries) but in reality that’s what its all about ! To ensure the players become as good on and off the field as they can be and its been a great year so far and certainly not over yet... perhaps we can make history and get to the final….

They will learn more from being in a highly competitive and challenging match which breeds a winning mentality than playing in a dead rubb-er of a league game
