I like the look of Holmes too, but I'd be wary of having him as a dead cert 1st teamer at this stage, for me it's more his durability at SL after a big injury that would be my doubt rather than his ability.

We could always take a punt and go for Hayne, Barba and Falou, 3 top quality players in positions we need to fill that wouldn't be too expensive at this moment in time...

Would get a fair bit of media attention, is all publicity good publicity?

Shockingly poor form. Imagine ken Davy doing anything as uncultured!!!
Imagine the club response if a player did something similar!
Will that push him towards our club.

How do you work that one out then? He has said one thing and that is the club offered him a contract and he, nor his agent responded to that offer and that was in response to Hampshire spouting off all over the media? Which he gave a lot more detail than MC has.
