What let a home grown player, with leadership qualities, and great ability. A potential England no9, who’s one of the best 9s we’ve had in a long number of years go to a rival for a bit of cash? We don’t need the money- but we need players like him who will give his all for his hometown club- not the money!!!
If we get a bit of money for him how would we spend it? We still have to stick within the cap so would only be able to pay a player a similar amount. So who could we get- as good and pay the same amount in salary?
He’s exactly the kind of player we should be building around. Not shipping off.
Or as we like to say on here “let go”

I agree with you about Leeming jools , But to be fair would you change job if it was a big step up, and if you were a League player which of the two clubs would you rather play for.

Leeds isnt a big step up anymore!
And if I was a hometown boy I’d imagine playing and winning for your Hometown club would be a bigger want for me than going to a rival team. And as an up and coming hooker who would you rather be coached by, an ex top NRL hooker or a championship half.

He grew up in fax, and Leeds will offer him money than us , we have AOB and butterworth so it wouldn’t be the end of the world I’d rather keep him but money talks.

Money may indeed talk as far as the player is concerned- but for our club possibly less important. He’s still contracted next year and I would expect the club to ask him to honour that contract. As they did with other players such as Jerry.
I just don’t see how the club would benefit from taking the money and going with AOB and butterworth- without disrespecting butterwirth he does not appear to me -YET- a better player than leeming, and who would then play in our reserves as we have sadly lost jack Flynn from the club this season. And who else would be available, as good, for the same amount?
I just don’t see how it would make good business sense for our club to take a fee for him.

,

Well if you don't see the Rhino's as a step up from the Giants i find that very strange, I would say they are arguably the biggest club in the game , unless you are basing your opinion on their their form this last few season, but then you would have to apply the same standards to the Giants and we both know what that's been.
If i had to put money on which of the two would win one of the trophies first i know where my money would be, not palatable maybe but a fairly safe bet i would say ( much as i would have it otherwise ). Leeds will not be happy to let things drag on for years as some clubs do, hoping for some kind of divine intervention, they have been multiple championship winners in the last 10 years and they will be wanting to get back to that.

Regarding the coaching comment , a top NRL hooker does not necessarily make a top S league coach Though in our case he hasn't had much chance yet ( maybe he can make his mark this coming season ) With Leeming i hope you are right, I don't want him to leave either but i think the reality is that 90% of players would put their livelihood and their families first just like they would in any other walk of life, although i know you get exceptions to this.

Anyway we shall know in the fullness of time but like you i hope he is with us next year, He has lots of potential but it really is all about coaching.

Make of this what you want but Holmes has been training at 9 whole pre season.

Possibly because we don’t have enough 9s to play in the reserves as jack Flynn has quit.
