Skolars Season Launch : Fri Mar 20, 2009 9:27 am  

The Skolars had a very impressive season launch in Moorgate last night. The presentation included a wonderful video that gave a new slant on London RL. See it at www.skolarsrl.com. The squad has only two non-brits and it was great to see the half-dozen north london lads who are on the fringes of the side. There was a little speech from Jaroslaw Obuchowski, the first Polish RL player who is still at college and two years ago couldn't speak english. He played for the Skolars last Sunday. All in all, the Skolars are going in the right direction and are hopeful of beating Swinton at New River on Sunday.

I think Skolars' game v Swinton at the weekend could possibly be a good pointer to how they will do. I think that, long term Skolars are now in a good place, but I think the youthful nature of their squad will make this season a very tough one for them. Swinton are not in great shakes at present, so this is a real chance for Skolars.

i agree it was a good nite in a top class venue. the strategy of taking the game into the city of london is a cracking idea.
