If this article is to be believed, this will soon be affecting some SL clubs as HMRC clamps down on the practice as a way of paying the best overseas players. I can't help but think this is a good thing in the long run but do you think it has affected us? It doesn't seem like every club is involved in it.

Pre the 2005 cut off possibly, but cannot honesty think other than Scott Hill, how this could have been applied to any of our overseas players post 2005. Possibly more to do with MK's agent paving the way for his client and others to bottle out of contracts?

think you could have something there. On the Wire forum lots of rumours that Monaghan wants away home for the normal excuse of family reasons. and TBH wouldnt blame King if hes wants away too with the stick he gets from the fans there. .

Not having ago at Wigan but would it have an affect on them with the overseas players they have on their books.

Apparently not. Dave Whelan apparently specifically told Lindsay etc not to use the tactic when he was chairman and it would be logical to assume thats carried on.
