Re: Move : Sun Mar 31, 2013 10:53 am
sadly I have to agree with daft dad, I like the stoop, its a good ground with good facilities and easy enough to get to for all fans
But the last couple of weeks has shown that the quins do not want us there. Rugby league DOES NOT cut up a ground like yawnion and all that rolling around in the mud stamping on each other and all that set piece scrimmaging.
I was at the stoop last wed, the playing surface has dried out and is covered in sand in the really wet bits.
Preserving the surface for there home games what a load of tosh
If it was for re seeding and been planned ahead fine
But if the surface was suitable for the Hull game then it was suitable for Cats and Bradford, don't know if they have noticed but its not rained since then

This is a not so subtle hint from the RFU we are in effect being evicted, so all the chat on here re a move is irrelevant, think its being forced on to us

I vote we move to Wycombe full time

Sorry, but you have this totally wrong. We chose not to stay for next year. I wouldn't be surprised if Gus is loving the fact we can't use the ground. More excuses for poor crowds and resistance to the planned move being eliminated.

And what has the got to do with the RFU ?

This thread is about leaving The Stoop immediately and that would make no sense at all.

As for our relations with Quins, well they're obviously bad. But unless there's some info from an insider we shall never know what the cause is. Fact is that we're leaving at the end of this season. I know no more. Does anybody? Facts only please, not speculation or opinion unless it's informed.

But this really doesn't belong on this thread.

Re: Move : Mon Apr 01, 2013 2:30 am
I have tenants in a number of London flats and houses.....I certainly wouldn't attempt to get them to move out for a couple of weeks when I return home to Blighty for a visit and it should be exactly the same for London Broncos as tenants of Harlequins RFC........we have agreed to stay there for the 2013 season and would have furnished the landlords with our fixtures as soon as we had them.....it is not the fault of London Broncos that Harlequins RFC have managed to secure a 1/4 final at ther Stoop...I can't believe that the club have accepted this shoddy treatment from a business that we pay a decent wedge of cash to for use of their facilities.

Harlequins never truly "embraced" us when we arrived back in 2006...then when IL left (and took any semblence of business accumen with him) they simply saw us as a cash cow. Gus moving the back office away, is just another cost cutting exercise, like sacking the office manager when he arrived although she single handedly pretty much handled the day to day running of the club and has since been replaced with a PA for him because he obviously can't handle the workload

Gus will get his way and will move the club, who incidently are currently averaging 1,911 per game, down 45% on the figure he inherited. I wouldn't let him look after a pub side, let alone one of only 13 fully pro teams in England.

As I have said, he's probably a really decent bloke, but whilst he is loving killing the club I support, then he'd best just stop reading message boards, because he's going to get little of no sympathy from anyone other than Rooster Booster.....
