Pitch looks dry now flicking through to Sky Sports 2 where QuinsRU are playing Munster as I type - Quins losing by 3 penalty kicks to 5 at the mo
But there is more to it than just a waterlogged pitch and we're away at the end of this season so I've given up worrying about it.
Of course the ground was in a good state for their game. I recall someone stating in 2009 (Can you guess who? Post was made on Wednesday 4 Feb 2009 at 4:35) that we were 'second class citizens/tenants is what we are'. He even suggested that the Bradford game due for 8 Feb 2009 which was cancelled due to snow at the time would have been on if Quins had been playing Munster, how prophetic. Assumed statistics to the potential two games were quoted! Don't believe Gus was anywhere near that contract not that I will defend him generally. So the whole issue of games either being cancelled or moved at the Stoop isn't new.
was watching an nfl doco. on one of their teams and they used the term bomb to describe those long high passes from quaterback to running back and i think gibson took that idea, realized you cant throw the ball forward in RL and adapted it to a "bomb" kick we have

The game you refer to was called off by the RFL match officials who inspected the pitch......it was also part of a pretty nasty weekend of sporting casualties due to the weather. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/front_page/7874630.stm
Feel free to point me in the direction of the RFL match officials examining the pitch for either of the recently moved games. I have always said we were tenants and second class ones at that, but the club never, not once mentioned that the rent was a problem. Gus is a hatchet man...he walked in and fired the existing staff, hired his own people and when that failed, he has scrambled around looking for excuses for HIS failure.....he's cut costs at every turn, increased ticket prices, fired his hand picked team and replaced them with a personal assistant.........
.....feel free to defend him attempt to discredit my posts if you like, but the facts are there for everyone to see.....43% less fans at games on his watch...49 games out of 65 to date with no shirt sponsor, dodgy replica gear produced by a mate in cricket, a failed re-brand that saw fans stay away and now a move to another landlord because all of a sudden, DH has realised that he's been paying too much rent.....the mans a loving disaster. He loved up in his previous role and he's excelled at loving up at London Broncos....defend away

Feel free to try a different escape clause from your own previous statements. Your previous posts in 2009 blamed the club or more pertantly Quins. You will also be aware that the post made a direct reference to Quins playing Munster. Clearly you fail to see the link (which was almost visionary) to the reason we didn't play two games this time and just think its a lets support Gus response and a go at you. However I never discredited your post from 2009 I just pointed out you had stated something very similar then as you are now but that Gus wasn't there. And then we get another diatribe about Gus. In terms of a match moved or cancelled what does the shirt sponsor and percentages of games with or without the sponsor, back room staff movements and replica gear have to do with the pitch?

Escape clause? I said in 2009 (and before IIRC) that the supposed partnership with the landlords was bollox......all you've done is underline that I saw this coming.
Meanwhile, you very nicely avoid the FACT that the RFL postponed the game in 2009 and the FACT that they had no input into the 2 recently moved games.....this was not a case of postponed games because of player safety concerns, this was our landlords calling the shots and our club cowering to their needs.
The person I would hold solely responsible for this is the same person who had it in his power to come clean to the fans, who by the way, contribute to his salary and announce that Harlequins Rugby Union weremaking us move our games......instead, we get murky statements saying the pitch is unplayable, which most assuredly in the case of the second game, was 100% unadulterated bollox. As for the list of his other failings, they are there because they further underline how badly the club are being run...as I have said before, if the recently moved games were the first time that he didn't do hs job properly, then fair enough, but the fact is he hasn't done his job properly, IMO that is, soince January 14th 2011 and has stolen a wage whilst ripping the club apart.
We never had a major problem with confusion about what game we played keeping fans away before Gus raised these concerns.......same way we never had a problem with the financials of our rental agreement until gus said we did.....anyone else see a pattern developing here?
I have always said we were tenants and second class ones at that, but the club never, not once mentioned that the rent was a problem.
What amazes me people still don't want to leave The Stoop???? regards rent, does any club really play discussions like that in the media? it's a little like Langtree Park still not being finished does McManus say we don't have the money No! it always the constructors fault but look at their website and everyone other has cladding! It's just the way business is run, be it right or wrong.
Although I cannot believe anyone would sign a contract enabling Quins to simply say "you can't play here this week, we're trying to protect the pitch", I want to stay at the Stoop - despite it being a minimun 90 minutes each way travel. It's a good ground to watch, good facilities, easy enough to get to, and most perhaps most importantly the base for the youth teams (even if they don't play there enough). I'd be worried moving to say Barnet would cause a disruption to what is looking like a useful progression pathway.
