I don't know about anyone else but I have got pretty fatigued with the top level competition.
It seems to be an endless and repetitive and countless series of fixtures between Leeds, St Helens, Wigan and Warrington, whilst earlier in Super League history it was an endless and repetitive and countless series of fixtures between Leeds, St Helens, Wigan and Bradford and especially when it comes to the crunch.
It seems that all the finals seem to include two of the same four teams and the over exposure by Sky Sports repeatedly showing the same teams in the weekly rounds has also exacerbated this scenario.
Let us face it, there is some interest from those who have a chance of a strong finish to the season and a shot at the big boys and maybe a cup run, but how are the likes of London and Salford benefitting from year after year of losses with minimal TV exposure as well?
In many ways it is similar to the Scottish Premier League and I can understand why anyone would seek to freshen things up.
I am not saying relegating the lesser lights and putting them on a minimal salary cap is of any benefit to the clubs themselves.
I would be very much in favour of something that actually circulated the stronger players throughout the competition than having for example someone having a full career at Leeds or the constant cherry-picking with no fee of any prospects from the smaller clubs, but in reality, the only freshness may come from new opponents with the status quo preserved
