The game is to be played in 25 degree heat and London played in similar temperatures last week and finished strongly with four unanswered tries.

I believe we will go into this game therefore with a smidgen of confidence.

My first tip is a FIVE STAR BET - London as predicted were set with a 12-14 points handicap, so I believe -4 for the first half is a steal. You can get Broncos -4.0 (1st Half Handicap Betting) @ 8/11 Ladbrokes

My second two tips is a FOUR STAR BET. I do not believe that the defending will improve as the game goes on with part-time players versus what looks a strong pack this week. So I am tipping 2nd Half - Highest Scoring Half - Sheffield Eagles v London Broncos @ 4/5 Ladbrokes

My next tip is a THREE STAR BET. London Broncos -6.0 (2nd Half Handicap Betting) @ 10/11 Ladbrokes. I believe this offers great odds given our stronger second half performances in recent games.

I will also offer two other TWO STAR BETS. Menzie Yere (Sheffield Eagles) - Anytime Try Scorer @ 7/4 and Quentin Laulu-Togagae (Sheffield Eagles) - Anytime Try Scorer @ 5/4

Quentin Laulu-Togagae has scored 25 tries in 24 appearances from fullback plus 28 tries in 2012 so has over 50 tries in two seasons and is 5/4 to score at anytime with Ladbrokes and 13/8 Betfred

Menzie Yere has scored 31 tries in 23 appearances and is a great 7/4 to score at any time with Ladbrokes

My final ONE STAR BET is Tony Clubb (London Broncos) - Anytime Try Scorer @ 15/8. If Clubb plays as I expect at Loose Forward for the best part of 80 minutes this will be cracking value as he will not be stopped close to the line. If he is simply an interchange Prop, you can pick another Prop and get 4/1, which would be better value.

My view is that taking the three handicap bets as a group will allow you to profit from 2 out of 3, whilst not going bust from one from three, but losing money obviously.

The same on the player scoring - but the better odds mean you will do very nicely from 2 out of 3 and if Clubb or Yere just score with the other two losing then you will lose almost nothing. It would be astonishing if neither of Sheffields top two scorers get across given their 55+ tries, that I would say. Yere looks amazing value!

PS I have looked at the data for upsets of a non-Super League club v a Super League club and could not find any non-Super League club winning by a margin of 11 or more in the past 17 years.

So if you wanted an insurance bet, you could take Sheffield at 1-10 or 1-12 at 5/1 or 9/2.

I am not tipping that of course

I've spread a tenner around in somewhat biased fashion.

£2 on Tom Armstrong FTS at 16/1 - Probably our signing of the season, knows his way to the try line, has 14 so far this campaign and is a big game player. Scored Leigh's winning try in the NRC final a couple of years ago right on the hooter.

£2 on Quentin Laulu-Togage LTS at 12/1 - 24 in 24 apps so far this season, finished with 35 from 31 apps last season. Outstanding talent, loves getting involved from fullback and generally gets stronger as the game goes on - hence the last try scorer shout.

£4 on Menzie Yere to score anytime and Sheffield Eagles to win at 9/1 - For me this is the bet of the day if you fancy an upset. Menzie has an unbelievable 31 tries in 24 apps so far this season, and if we win will almost certainly be on the scoresheet. 9/1 seems a massive price.

£2 on Sheffield Eagles to win by 1-12 points at 9/2 - I figured if we do win it's unlikely to be by 13+ (16/1 if you fancy that!) and the 9/2 price is slightly better than the 7/2 offered for an outright win.

I had a tenner on Yere to score at any time, and a tenner of Clubb to score at any time, so a small win for me overall

THREE STAR BET - won
TWO STAR BET - Yere (won), Laulu-Togagae (lost)
ONE STAR BET - Clubb (lost)

My staking strategy was £33 for each of the first three bets and £10 for the two and one star bets = £129.

So a healthy return of around £100 or so, not too bad.

Let me know if anyone else has won anything, it will be great if you have.

I had some pin money on Bets 1 & 2 so am now the princely sum of £15 something richer. I guess I owe you a pint if I see you - preferably a cheap Northern one
