should have known that once the warder mentioned being judged on the development of kids we'd get a crap rating from the RFL. http://media.therfl.co.uk/docs/Academy%20Accreditation%202013.pdf 1= Outstanding 2= Good 3= Requires Improvement 4= Weak For those who missed it, the CEO recently pointed out the 4 areas he believed clubs should be judged on when it comes to 2 dropping down. "The areas which need to be considered are the finances of the club, the performance on the field, your youth performance and your facilities." He's kicking us out of the best facilities available, we're bottom of the table and heading for 1,000 points against, something like 500k a year DOWN on income under his guidance and now the RFL have pointed out our kids are lower than average. loving idiot

Yes. I did like the way Gus seemed to be saying "You can't kick us out simply because we'll finish last on the ladder; to be scrupulously fair, you must also consider how utterly dreadful we are across a much fuller range of indicators!"

This seems more of Nigel's master plan ready to kick us in the teeth! I feel along with the amateur clubs, we have done a lot with youth development, the Academy players are well looked after and the scholarships they get!

From the report i get the following. Good staff, kids value being there and it produces players for the first team. Marked down because of the lack of facilities.

Summarising the results, SL clubs only:
1. Leeds, Saints, Wigan
2. Bradford, Hull FC, Wire, Widnes
3. Cas, Hudds, London, Wakey
4. HKR, Salford

So, we're about where we might expect to be. HKR should be well ashamed.

The way I read it was that out of 4 grades, we got the third level one....the reasoning behind the low grade is not unimportant, but it again shows that we generally fall short on EVERY criteria that the CEO hinted (it was more akin to begging IMO) that we need to be judged on.

I am not trying to dismiss anyone else's point of view, but I have to say that trying to put positive spin on that report does smack of some kind of mistakenly placed blind allegiance to the cause.

By the way......I don't care about HKA or Salford......I care about London Broncos and as it stands, the club are in the worst position they have ever been in 18 years of SL!

Training facilities, etc. This might have changed but at one point the academy trained at a couple of different locations depending on what work they were dong that day. Also, clubs like Wigan, etc have the academy players enrolled at a local college so they can train more or less full time and study alongside it. Not sure if we're dong that or letting the kids get on with their own thing.
