Really good article, very good insight from someone who seems to know what they are doing in sports marketing.

so we need to get entertaining an product and try and get people through door for free, to then be entertained and hopefully a % will come back.

All we need then is a competitive team who compete week in and week out and an energetic marketing dept.

Always said you can spend the largest amount of money you want on marketing, but if you do not have the right product, you might as well put the money down the drain. If when new people turn a brand, if the don't like it, then that is it. Very few remain die hards! like the basic 1500 or so we now have.

Agree about the article but I think he's saying even that's not enough for long-term sustainability.

Except that it contradicts most of the nostrums that are regularly advanced by many of us and highlights that the criticisms of the owner and CEO, however valid they might be, are petty in the bigger context.

I did not state season ticket holders, you can buy tickets on the day, which some fans do who can't make ever game.
